Too Long; Didn't Read

Last week I reported on the state of Ethereum with an overview of the most prominent categories and statuses of over 400 Ethereum projects. It has been quite a task keeping all these projects up to date and has proven definitely too much work for one single person.

Etherstatus pushes big update to gather information faster and more reliable.

Last week I reported on the state of Ethereum with an overview of the most prominent categories and statuses of over 400 Ethereum projects. It has been quite a task keeping all these projects up to date and has proven definitely too much work for one single person.

That is why today we have opened up the website for anyone to add Ethereum projects or edit existing projects.

How does it work?

Etherstatus is working with a trust system in which every user starts of at zero and is able to create edits (modifications to Ethereum projects). However these edits will need to be confirmed by users with a higher level of trust (for every successful edit you submit you gain trust).

Editing projects with a single click

Once you reach a certain level of trust you can also add projects to the database and monitor the changes of lower level users. The whole system has been designed in order to secure the database and keep the whole website transparant and independent (wikipedia style).

Reward based editing

The website will still be donation based. After development costs have been paid all the remainder will go to the users that actually made the edits or created the projects. If the cumulative donation amount is too low we might have to switch to advertisements.

The next phase of Etherstatus will be finishing the public API which means third party websites can implement the Etherstatus database.
