Too Long; Didn't Read

Facebook announced that it was changing its name to Meta, that quickly raised the profile for the metaverse from an emerging, but relatively fringe technology to the mainstream. Edge computing, one of the key enabling technologies, is in a phase of rapid growth. It overcomes the problem of distance by using local infrastructure, such as servers or other devices, to process and store application-related data as close as possible to where it is needed. The global edge computing market is expected to grow from $40.84 billion in 2022 to $132.11 billion by 2028.
