Too Long; Didn't Read

The term cyberbiosecurity has been created and propagated out of the academic community, largely for the purposes of generating publications that can be cited to justify new grant funding. The biology community is late to the game when it comes to understanding cyber issues, and its time we step up. It is causing real operational challenges for people trying to conduct real-world security work. The real problem is that the act of making sure your networks are clean, segregated, and overall hardened is purely a cybersecurity issue.
