Feel my pain, folks:

Telegram is my main messenger, communication tool, and information source. I check it multiple times every day to follow the latest news and keep track of the crypto market and web3 startup scene. And it can became really overwhelming šŸ‘‡

99+ unread messages in telegram means "thousands"

In the first week of January, I finally decided to get rid of this red alarm sign (actually this digestible sign 99+ was hiding a few thousand unread posts and messages!)

When I looked at it after a short digital detox on holidays, It turned out to be complete chaos that made me feel sick: tons of crypto channels in my telegram promoting shitcoins, airdrops, scammers, and other useless content. Not even a chance to find the relevant daily source of information about the web3 world in this telegram mess!

Do you feel the same? Then you definitely should bookmark this post!

I spent several days unsubscribing from shitty crypto channels and trying to find those that are worth reading. And here you have the stats:

After cleaning up my telegram feed

It took me many hours to come up with this result, and in my first post in 2023, I want to save you time and share the final clean list with you so that we all have a productive year.

BTW, while searching for worthy channels I went through lots of web articles and posts a-la ā€œX Best Crypto Telegram Channelsā€, ā€œTop Web3 Telegram Channels to Readā€, etc. Surprisingly, 99,9999% of these featured crowded popular channels with hundreds of thousands of subscribers are useless (politely speaking). To be straightforward, they promote pure scams, shilling any tokens and projects that could pay for a feature.

My takeaway: donā€™t run for crowded channels. The majority of scammy ones have an incredibly large amount of subscribers. Sometimes youā€™ll find real diamonds among small telegram channels and groups. Probably, they dedicate efforts and resources to creating insightful content instead of promoting the channel itself to a large audience.

Below youā€™ll find my own top list of the best telegram channels that I personally use for relevant, insightful, and value-added information about the crypto market, web3 startups, and VC scene (I did not include trading groups and channels, only those with market trends, news, analytics, and value-added posts). Here they are:

The 7 telegram channels about web3 and crypto

  1. Cointelegraph Channel (140k subscribers)

Iā€™ll start with the most known and the biggest one on my list: an official channel of the crypto media outlet Cointelegraph. It covers all about crypto fintech, blockchain, and Bitcoin, bringing you the latest news and analyses on the future of money.

  1. Metaverse | Web3 | GameFi (89k subscribers)

This one is also quite a known channel with over 80k subscribers where you can find and get daily updates with all the important NFT news. They have a hard focus on NFT, Metaverse and GameFy, so if you work in these verticals or feel curious to learn, keeping an eye on this channelā€™s updates will keep you in the loop of everything thatā€™s happening in this sector.

  1. Decrypt ChannelĀ (9k subscribers)

Same as Decrypt is competing with Cointelegraph as a media outlet, and their telegram channels compete with each other. However, I find them quite complementary: Decrypt delivers daily news about everything that happens in crypto and the decentralized web. Very handy format of laconic news highlights but in huge volume: 10-20 news per day.

  1. NFT lately (3k subscribers)

NFT Lately is another media outlet that recently appeared on the radar. They started as a web newsletter about NFTs and transformed into an online portal with news, articles, press releases, and guides for newbies. They also have a relatively small telegram channel that sends you the highlights of the recent posts in the web portal and delivers all the latest news around NFTs. The channel is updated a few times per day.

  1. UnfoldedĀ (92k subscribers)

In Unfolded you can find the Latest crypto market news, macro and micro-updates, comments on FUDs, etc. This channel is relevant for those, who want to track big players' activity on the market and prefer short summarized pieces of content to keep themselves in the loop. They also post content on a daily basis, mostly sourced from Coindesk news.

  1. Web3 Startups and VCsĀ (0,6k subscribers)

Probably the smallest channel with the laziest admins (they post 3-5 times per week), but highly recommended telegram channel, delivering useful information about web3 startups and venture capital deals. You wonā€™t find typical crypto news here, but quite a lot of good reviews about promising startups, fundraising tips, market insights, crypto VC opinions, etc.Ā The channel is curated by InnMind, the leading platform for web3 startups and venture capitalists, so here you can also find exclusive information on early-stage projects and VC deals.

  1. Global Web3 JobsĀ (28k subscribers)

To finish this list, I found another interesting channel where you can find web3 and crypto-related jobs: open vacancies in top protocols and crypto exchanges, as well as open positions in rising and no-name companies. The channel posts daily a lot of relevant vacancies. If you want to work in this field but don't know where to find a job, it makes sense to subscribe.Ā Especially considering how many people lost jobs during a bear market and now may be seeking for career opportunities in crypto.

PS:

If the time Iā€™ve put into doing research and drafting this article helped you to save some nerve cells, Iā€™ll appreciate some feedback from you guys: what telegram channels are missing here? Share in the comments for good karma!
