Bitcoin is encrypted with the SHA-256 algorithm, whereas Litecoin Network uses Scrypt and Keccak-256, respectively. Litecoin is designed to allow anyone with a personal computer to mine Litecoin. Bitcoin is the first blockchain-based cryptocurrency, so it stands apart from all other projects that have subsequently appeared. All cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin are called altcoins, and they are often created to overcome some of Bitcoin’s limitations. As a result, altcoins often use different protocols and encryption algorithms, with Litecoin and Etherum among the most well-known.
