This article will show how I built a functional static web app with user authentication and a dynamic database for FREE using Webflow, Vault Vision, Cyclic, and Airtable with LowCode Over the past few weeks, I've spoken to many technology founders starting out with an idea for a software business or service that requires interaction with their customers over the web. One was a service that provides charities a way to publish donation requests, and another was a service that connected delivery drivers to nearby public bathrooms. I discovered a significant obstacle awaiting these founders when they make the transition from a simple static brochure-style website to creating a SaaS application. The transition to a modern SaaS app that needs individual user authentication and controlled access to records typically required a development effort that was out of reach of budgets, thus these entrepreneurs were forced to use email submission forms or online spreadsheets that did not sufficiently meet their auth needs and were cumbersome. Like any founder, I knew there had to be a better way;  with all the new SaaS LowCode tools that offer a FREE plan, surely there is a lowcode and user-friendly solution that doesn’t require hiring a developer to build a custom 3-tier application for thousands of dollars. To build a fully functional and secure authentication system into SaaS applications, we settled on the following requirements: low cost or FREE #LowCode, has to be copy/paste-able and quick to self-edit without relying on expensive  developers All managed infrastructure. Servers, networks, systems, and disks have to be someone else's problem.  Once I get it working at noon, it better stays that way through the night, and the job of some other unsung sysadmin if it doesn't App users need to be able to login and logout App users need to be able to add/update/see their records and data (and ONLY their data) Needs to have some pre-built easy admin interfaces for service owners themselves to manage and have access to ALL the data. Needs to be point-and-click, copy-and-paste usable for standard features, with an option to have advanced customizable features available with small bits of code. A modern, secure and reasonable solution is a 3-tier app and how can we make it simple? Front End (easy to make simple with web builders like Wix, Webflow, GoDaddy) Middle Tier (hmm, this is the struggle, most current options will violate one of the requirements, specifically needing custom development) Data Tier (easy to make simple with Airtable) Let's break down what we need the Middle Tier to actually do. Hold an API Key and keep it secure to access Airtable, we can have this in the Front End because that is public, so it has to be in the Middle Tier Handle user auth to issue sessions and access tokens to securely identify and authenticate users for both the Front End and the Data Tier Luckily there are auth services like Vault Vision (disclaimer: the author of this fine article is affiliated with Vault Vision. Please check us out :) ) https://vaultvision.com So Vault Vision can handle the user management and auth with a static website just fine, but there still needs to be a component to store the data API key and to tie the user authentication to the data such that user access to records is controlled and restricted to just the users that should have access.  This is where things get interesting and to sum up the problem: 'Can we make a generic, re-usable, middle tier component that does not need "on-going" dev that can hold an API key, validate user authentication tokens and enforce data access constraints, and NOT require developers or system admins to manage and deploy, and can be FREE?' YES!! It took a bit of inspired determination but where there is a will there is a 'Node-Auth-Airtable' way open-sourced by Vault Vision, designed to run as an Express API serverless App on the Cyclic application platform that does offer a FREE plan. Generic Node Auth Airtable Bridge This solution might not be for everyone, but let's go over the pros and cons of this solution vs a standard 3-tier app. Pros FREE, can not overstate how awesome this is for the fledging founder, it is a great way to test out business ideas and service concepts with workable betas. #LowCode, can be self-installed and self-edited with a minimal amount of tech knowledge Modular, most of the services can be provided by many vendors Expandable with simple javascript, complex customization can be added with minimal effort Can scale with smaller piece-meal replacements Quick to deploy and setup can be done in under 1 hour Support available through discord and forums Data structures and admin interfaces are simple and excel like Low complexity, no abstractions, very understandable Cons Specifically built for Airtable's data API Esoteric, not a common architecture pattern DELETEs are not really supported, can be done, but there is no 'recycle bin' if a user wipes their own data Scalability is limited before upsizing components and infrastructure customization will be needed Complex data structures, ACID transactions, and foreign key constraints aren't available Components are tightly coupled, and the Front End does need to match data formats to the Data Tier interfaces. Is this right for you? If you are looking for a fast and easy way to make a low-cost dynamic web app that users can create and view their own records, all in simple data structures, then YES! Great use cases are: A school that wants to publish grades for students Voting or polling application Ticket/work request application Expense report submission So on to the nitty gritty details, below are the 11 steps needed to try this out and to get a working example on your own accounts and websites. Details of the Steps (Warning, many screenshots) You are going to create 4 accounts and keep track of the following 8 values of id, domains, and URLs, you should keep track of these values in a notepad window for easy reference you will copy and paste them frequently. Step 9 List the data content The "list Air Table" button will read out all the records that are attached to the correct vv_id (user_id) for the current user that is logged in.  You can logout, create a new user and repeat the same process and you will see that each users records are dynamic and only accessible by that user.  One user cannot access another users records. Step 10 Airtable Admin sees all Back in Airtable you can new see and modify ALL records as the Airtable Admin, and you can see the individual records now attached to each user. Step 11 User management, you can also manage these users with blocking/deleteing/credential reseting in the User management panel. Voila!!! Even though there are several components to this solution, they are all understandable, single purpose based, #LowCode and have some FREE options yet give you dynamic user-based features of full application with the convivence of Webflow and #LowCode building.

Imagine the StrongBox®️ DApp as a digital vault for your important files and data. Just like you have a safe place to store your physical belongings, the StrongBox®️ DApp is a safe place for your digital assets, like passwords or essential information, that you want to keep safe and share only with specific people if and when needed. Venket Naga: Here's how it works: Connect your favourite DEX wallet to the StrongBox®️ DApp on the Serenity Shield website. The DApp then prompts and guides you to make a unique userr account. Next, you can add sensitive data for storage in the StrongBox, such as seed phrases or private keys or any confidential information. This data is then encrypted and stored on a private smart contract, on the layer-1 Secret Network, that specifies release conditions, like to a designated inheritor after a pre-defined time. A viewing key of the smart contract is returned to the DApp as the smart contract is stored on the blockchain, and the same viewing key is fragmented into three separate NFTs. The NFTs are minted on any compatible network and serve as access keys to the box. 2 out of the 3 NFTs(A or B + C) are required to access data, ensuring owner control while providing secure access to the designated nominee only when the smart contract conditions are met. Could you share some insights into your transition from a traditional investment banking background to becoming a FinTech entrepreneur and how your experiences have influenced the vision and direction of MANTRA? I had been in crypto for. For a long time before I actually joined a bank. I bought my first bitcoin in 2013, which was when I was back in university. So I think I've been pretty crypto native in technology, technologically driven, since a very young age. Even when I was at the bank, I was researching fintech and blockchain and other types of financial technology applications. So it was more about the culture and the type of business I wanted to work in. John Patrick Mullin: I definitely like the convergence of both the tech and the finance part, but it was more about this. I think the reason that I ended up shifting out and going into entrepreneurship is the ability to build something from scratch, lead people, work with people on incredibly tough challenges every day, and I'm just a bit of a workaholic, so entrepreneurship suits me. Ishan Pandey: Could you elaborate on the specific products and features that MANTRA is planning to launch to facilitate DeFi participation for both institutional and retail investors? At MANTRA we are building our Module layer which has MANTRA Token Service Module, MANTRA Assets Module, Guard Layer, MANTRA Compliance Module that enable creation, management and trading of RWAs for institutions, businesses, retailers, developers and users at ease. John Patrick Mullin: Ishan Pandey: How does MANTRA collaborate with regulatory authorities and industry partners to establish best practices and standards for tokenizing RWAs within the DeFi ecosystem? MANTRA is in the process of applying for requisite licensing for on chain exchange and brokerage, as well as asset investment management products in the UAE. We also work with regulated partners in other jurisdictions. One of the ways that we're able to cooperate and adhere to regulatory requirements is through our unique custom guard module on the MANTRA Chain, which allows us to create a compliant cocoon for many of the on chain applications that would require oversight, regulatory oversight and compliance. John Patrick Mullin: Ishan Pandey: How do tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) contribute to MANTRA’s strategy and offer unique opportunities for investors? Can you provide examples of tokenized RWAs that  MANTRA Finance plans to offer? MANTRA plans to offers a variety of RWAs to offer unique and extensive opportunities that includes stocks, bonds, commodities, real estate, art work and varied illiquid Traditional Assets. John Patrick Mullin: Ishan Pandey: What motivated the decision to debut yield-bearing DeFi products initially, followed by the launch of a Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) DEX and derivative products? Initially, we decided that it would make the most sense to launch with vault style products or yield bearing products, which obviously allow users to get exposure to not just RWAs, but other types of crypto yield bearing instruments. I think the two things in crypto that people are interested in is both the yield seeking part as well as the speculative part. So we want to cater to both parts of this user experience. We believe that naturally an exchange is really important to have within an ecosystem, whether that's a DEX, an order book exchange, etc. but we also believe in bringing finance onchain. So it made sense to launch an onchain sentiment order book that sits on top of an AMM, allowing for both. Simple swapping as well as more sophisticated trading structures. John Patrick Mullin: Ishan Pandey: What role does MANTRA Chain play within the MANTRA ecosystem, and how does it generate revenue? John Patrick Mullin: MANTRA Chain is the underpinning of everything within the MANTRA ecosystem. The OM token is the center of all this, which is the native token of the MANTRA Chain. We believe in this idea of the app chain thesis. So the protocol that we're developing, which is MANTRA Chain, has created specifically purpose built technology and software that allows applications that build on top of it to comply with local regulations across the globe. It's really the protocol for the entirety of our ecosystem. Ishan Pandey: As MANTRA moves towards its initial equity financing round, what are the key priorities for the company in terms of investor relations and fundraising activities? We raised $11 million, led by Shorooq Partners, which is a leading fintech VC in the UAE. Some of the priorities for the company, now that we've raised this capital, is hiring, expanding the team, growing our licensing capabilities, etc. John Patrick Mullin: Ishan Pandey: How does MANTRA ensure the integrity and authenticity of tokenized RWAs on its platform, especially considering the potential for fraud or misrepresentation in the tokenization process? MANTRA has its own Guard Module and Passportable DIDs that ensures a walled garden of KYC/KYB and Anti Money Laundering system. John Patrick Mullin: Ishan Pandey: Could you elaborate on the potential challenges associated with cross-border compliance and regulatory differences when dealing with tokenized RWAs from various jurisdictions, and how MANTRA plans to address them? One of the things that is obviously incredibly important when it comes to dealing with RWAs and other types of products is the ability to adhere to local regulations. So because of that, we built this idea of the guard module, which allows for permissioning across the wallet, the product, the pool, the asset, etc. and we have this customizable ability to allow and permission usage from individuals from different jurisdictions and also block them from others. So we can actually stop people who are not able to touch and interact with products at the smart contract level via this guard module. John Patrick Mullin: Ishan Pandey: How does MANTRA plan to educate investors about the benefits and risks of investing in tokenized RWAs compared to traditional financial instruments? Education is a really important thing when you're creating a new market, and we're definitely beating the drum for RWAs and tokenized on chain financial products. We're doing interesting things with respect to various hackathons. Obviously a lot of in person engagement, educational content from our social media team and marketing team, and we'll also have some unique incubator style arrangements where we'll be actually supporting teams to build on this RWA focused ecosystem. John Patrick Mullin: Additionally, we're cooperating with major academic institutions, particularly their blockchain clubs, that will allow us to educate the next generation about onchain financial products. Ishan Pandey: How does MANTRA perceive the role of RWAs in the future of crypto? Additionally, how does MANTRA aim to bring RWAs into the mainstream investor's radar? John Patrick Mullin: I believe that RWAs are just an extension of the financial system bringing it on chain. RWAs is frankly a bad acronym, it was called STO not too long ago. So I think there's a better way to actually describe these type of products and it's mainly just geared around tokenization. So I believe almost everything can be tokenized. That doesn't mean everything should be tokenized, but most financial products and platforms in my opinion in the future will be on some degree of a blockchain, although you may not know that it's on a blockchain.
