Determine the Suitable Pod Security Level When determining the appropriate Pod Security level for your namespace, you have several methods to consider: By Security Requirements for the Namespace If you are familiar with the expected access level and security requirements for the namespace, you can select an appropriate Pod Security level based on those specific requirements. This approach is similar to how you would approach security settings in a new cluster. By Existing PodSecurityPolicies: Utilize the reference to map each of your existing Pod Security Policies (PSPs) to a corresponding Pod Security Standard level. If your PSPs are not originally based on the Pod Security Standards, you may need to make a decision. Choose a Pod Security level that is at least as permissive as your PSPs, or opt for a level that is at least as restrictive. Bypassing PSP To effectively bypass PodSecurityPolicy at the namespace level, you can bind a fully privileged Pod Security Policy (PSP) to all service accounts in the namespace. This process ensures that pods within the namespace are no longer subjected to modifications or restrictions imposed by PodSecurityPolicy. You can do that at a cluster level or at an individual namespace level. Cluster-Scoped Setup (Needed Only Once for the whole cluster): Create a fully privileged Pod Security Policy (PSP) by applying a YAML configuration file, such as . Adjust Namespace Creation Policies You can statically configure the Pod Security admission controller to define default enforcement, audit, and/or warning levels for unlabeled namespaces. This approach ensures that namespaces lacking explicit Pod Security labels still adhere to your specified security standards by default. Static Configuration: By revisiting your namespace creation processes, you can seamlessly integrate Pod Security standards into y and maintain a consistent and secure approach across all namespaces, old and new. our Kubernetes environment Disable PodSecurityPolicy Once you are confident that the PodSecurityPolicy (PSP) admission controller is no longer needed and that Pod Security Admission (PSA) has been successfully implemented and validated, you can proceed to disable the PSP admission controller. Here are the steps to disable the PSP admission controller: Modify kube-apiserver Configuration: Open the configuration file for your kube-apiserver, typically located at /etc/kubernetes/manifests/kube-apiserver.yaml. Add the flag to disable the PSP admission controller. Common Concerns & The Solution "I don't have time," "I'm not comfortable on social media," "I already work and produce a podcast," - these are common concerns, and I completely understand. This means your chances are pretty good, or at least better than with a random person, that your listener's friends will like your content too. And that was your first step in building your audience. Choose your style - from professional to casual, academic to storytelling, Op-Ed to FAQ. Here's an excerpt: Storytelling: Transforms the podcast's main points into a narrative with characters, settings, conflicts, and resolutions. Professional: Uses clear, concise, and formal language in a well-structured format. Academic: Makes the article read like a scholarly paper, suitable for educational or research-based podcasts. Op-Ed: Presents the podcast's key points as an opinion piece with a clear stance. Casual: Adopts a friendly, approachable tone marked by informal language, personal anecdotes, and humor. Personal Letter: Writes the article like a personal letter, sharing insights from the podcast. FAQ: Presents the content as a series of FAQs, useful for instructional or educational podcasts. Creating a Personal Brand The Personal Branding style is by far the most powerful. This style mimics the speaker's language and perspective, offering a personal touch to your content - like having your content creator niche served with a unique voice. This makes the engagement more personal and helps you identify with the content. Starting to post on social media platforms will feel intimidating at first, but you will get used to it. For personal branding you will need a transcript from LemonSpeak that you can . create for free The Importance of Pre-Production Engagement Now, we're discussing post-production, but what about the actual production phase or even the planning stages? Want to know how to make your podcast go viral? Start by engaging your audience, ask them what they'd love to hear, or conduct a quick poll. That's engagement and promoting your podcast at the same time without paying a penny. Well, you pay with your time, which is very valuable. That's why I created this service for you. In the beginning, you may need to tweak the content here and there because you are not used to it. But even then, tweaking a piece of content for five minutes compared to writing a whole article plus social media posts on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram, which costs you at least a day, is a huge gain for your productivity. If you're wondering where I came up with the very specific figure of one day: I usually need at least 1.5 days. Currently, one article will be created. Each platform you want to post to has its own style, making it difficult to write a generic blog post. Ideally, you would need to tailor the article to the platform, but not with my tips. Share your articles in spaces where your audience frequents, like Facebook groups, Reddit, Discord servers, or Slack workspaces. Each tweet you share can also be leveraged in these channels. This way you do not need to adapt your article to the platform. When you post an article or a tweet, make sure you tag relevant people, guests or topics. This will give you further reach. Include a compelling CTA encouraging readers to check out your blog post. Aim to transform your followers into ambassadors by actively engaging with them. A Small Change, A Big Impact: Unraveling the Hidden Influence of Your Podcast Titles on Audience Reach, Engagement, and the Overall Success of Your Show. Episode titles are often neglected, even though they add a lot of value. Not only for SEO, but also for users. This short issue explains why and shows you a tool that grades your title and generates optimized alternatives. Surely, you’ve heard of SEO and how much it helps your podcast grow, but how do you differentiate between people who are trying to sell you their latest product and what is actually helpful? I’ll touch on two points. The actual value of SEO for search engines The far more important value for listeners SEO: Increasing Your Content Visibility Online 🔎 SEO means Search Engine Optimization and describes how well a search engine finds your content. This can be a podcast, a website, or anything else that is online. Since I am developing tools for podcasters, I’ve come across a couple of podcasts. A good title should be the default, but I’ve seen many that do not put much weight on it. Episode 20, Episode 21, Ep 05, there are many variations. This is not very appealing even though the content might be great. I understand the trouble: preparing, recording, editing, and now a creative title? This might be annoying for some people. Imagine the best book with a non-expressive title: Book 1, Book 2, Book 3 — it won’t be a New York Times bestseller, don’t you think? Think of it that way: How should a search engine pick up on your great podcast without giving it something to work with? An SEO-friendly title is not a novel concept; nevertheless, it’s sometimes overlooked because it can be tedious and time-consuming. Creating a transcript would also help. You don’t come across many articles about UEO, so it’s a bit of a leap of faith, but the pieces fit together pretty well. User engagement describes how much a user engages with something. That can be physical or digital, it doesn’t matter, but to get people to interact with your content, you have to trigger something in them. There are many sides to this. One of them is known as “click baiting”, which is usually achieved by either inducing fear or making you, the user, feel like you’re missing out (FOMO, e.g., If you don’t read this … ). It’s the bad side of SEO and the internet. From ‘The Sea Cook’ to ‘Treasure Island’: A Lesson in User Engagement Optimization I’ll give you a positive example that’s actually super old! Have you ever heard of “Treasure Island”? An adventure novel about sailing, pirates, and buried gold, published in 1883. It’s a bestseller, but it didn’t start out that way. It had already been published as “The Sea Cook: A Story for Boys” in 1881. The book with that title was not particularly successful when it was first published. The title was probably changed to ‘Treasure Island’ because it better conveyed the adventure and intrigue of the story. Joe Ferraro: My name is Joe Ferraro. I am the Vice President of Revenue, so I oversee the commercial operations here at Anno. Our product is known as Hypothesis and we are a social annotation tool. So our goal is really to allow people to have conversations about anything on the Web directly where they find the source information. So the best layman’s way to explain it would be to imagine the commenting in Google Docs everywhere, on the Web, that you have conversations with your classmates, your peers, or even your friends on a variety of topics. Samuel Brake Guia: I love this idea because I found commenting in those documents so helpful, especially for someone like myself who works as a digital nomad working with teams that spread out all across the world. So I already have noticed just how useful this can be so to have it all over the Web, sounds absolutely fascinating. I want to know when and how did hypothesis first start? Joe Ferraro: Yeah, that’s a great question. And This is an old idea that Dan Whaley our founder and CEO has been trying to fix since probably about 2011. So he’s a tech pioneer, he launched, the first Travel booking website in the 90s, the first plane ticket, ever booked commercially over the Internet. Went through a server of Dan’s living room. So Dan’s always been trying to solve big problems. Joe Ferraro: And the idea of Hypothesis comes from when I was involved with a climate tech startup in 2011. So there are a lot of conversations in the world about climate and climate change. And at that time it was really focused on the Copenhagen Accords and whether or not the US was going to adopt them and some other countries as well. And what Dan found was that there was a lot of misinformation on the Web. I think today, especially in the States, we probably call that fake news but he said if we could just have a conversation on the source data, whether an article in the New York Times or research study that you find in one of the various journals on the Web where people could actually, look at the facts, talk about them and have a nuanced conversation that may actually give people more of a view. That they could sort of see the other side, especially with some of these polarizing conversations as opposed to taking the article and putting it on Facebook and seeing your Uncle Bill’s reaction and your friend from college. And so, in 2011, he decided this was a problem he was gonna solve and this is actually something that people have been thinking about almost since the genesis of the Web even in Mosaic back in the 90s, there was initially an annotation functionality in the Mosaic browser. That sort of took a backseat to some other features. And so, Dan spent the first seven or eight years of the Hypothesis project actually running a nonprofit where the organization was trying to determine the best technical ways to approach this big idea, but also to develop a Web standard. So 2017 to 2018, the annotation was developed by the W3C as a new unit of speech. And in 2019, we incorporated as Annotation Unlimited or as we’re known Anno, and went to market with the Hypothesis product. Samuel Brake Guia: That’s awesome. And it’s incredible to hear that there’s such a deep backstory spanning years and years of work and that’s fascinating to me. And I want to know what’s the story behind the name Hypothesis, and was it always the plan to have the website spelled like Hypothesis? But with the dot before the final I and S because I think that’s really cool. Joe Ferraro:  So, I mean, you think about the definition of hypothesis, you think about it, you’ve got a thesis and that’s the foundation upon which any argument rests. It’s namely that you’re looking to prove a theory and the first thing you do when you start writing or when you’re in science, what you want to look for when you’re reading is some kind of hypothesis or thesis that can sort of explain what you see in front of you. And that’s what the scientists do every day, that’s what researchers, do every day. And even in my own work, trying to determine, why is a certain thing happening if the set of hypothesis and either prove it right or wrong. And so that’s really what we set out to do is let people talk about things and bring the facts right to where the information rests Joe Ferraro: In terms of the web domain, I think it’s actually two things. First, it’s really clever web hacking. Maybe it’s a domain hack. I mean .is is an Islandic exchange, but we also think that the Icelandic people are really good representatives of the type, but thinking that we’re trying to nurture. Back in 2010 Iceland part of it actually passed a forward-looking modern media initiative, which was 13 laws. That could be edited to talk about freedom of speech, expression and information. And as they did that, it actually allowed them. The people of Iceland to go through a process to crowdsource, a rewrite of their constitution. Obviously, that’s what we’re all about. So we approve. So from a marketing perspective, it looks really great. It’s easy to think of. And also really ties closer to the values that we have as a company. Samuel Brake Guia: That’s awesome. That’s a fun little fact as well because I never would have known that, it has that behind it. And I would highly recommend that anyone listening goes to check out your website that we mentioned there because it really gives you a better sense of how this is going to work. And I did see on your website that you have a blog titled Preparing Students for the Workplace with Social Annotation. Now again, I would highly recommend listeners, go check it out but for now, would you be able to share some insights based on this blog and maybe from your own knowledge on how you believe Social Annotation can help prepare students for the workplace? Joe Ferraro: Yeah, that’s a really great question, Sam. And I think, before I answer it, we should take a step back and talk about sort of who we serve right now. And so Hypothesis as we launched, it was the end of 2019, early 2020, and all of a sudden for some reason there was a massive need for new tools in education to help students collaborate and work together. That was really where we were born in education again. We have about two million university students that use our tool each year to collaborate on reading, really replacing the discussion board and having more in-depth nuanced conversations in the classroom. And the dream has always been to really unfold this technology across the Web. As students have started to graduate they’ve started to try and take this tool with them and we’re asking “How can I continue to take notes and have conversations on the source material that I need in front of me?” And that gave us a great opportunity to start moving into the enterprise space. Joe Ferraro: But, especially over the last two, three years. There are students graduating college this year that spent the first two years of their undergraduate, Working remotely, and having to collaborate because they weren’t able to physically, go to campus. And so many knowledge workers today work remotely that having an understanding of how to collaborate over the web without having a physical conference room or being able to go ask your neighbor a question is a big challenge for these folks. Especially when you think of tech in general, I saw a study recently that the average tech company uses 78 different SAS applications across an organization and so that could be things like Slack, it could be email, it could be Salesforce. That could be your marketing software but none of these tools talk to each other and that’s a big difference for students. When they’re coming out of school, you work in your learning management system, your texts are located your assignments are located there, your collaborating peers, So it’s a big adjustment for students, especially when they get into the workplace and suddenly have to figure out Where do I put the information. So the right people are going to see it and How do I collaborate with all these different tools where I can have different options? And so our goal is to first, make sure students know how to continue to collaborate with each other while they’re at school, but help them integrate. The technologies that you’re going to use every day using our platform to help them connect those various identities and share the information that they want to. Samuel Brake Guia: That’s awesome. Yeah, I mentioned it before, but I can definitely see this helping not just students, but the workplace and throughout the whole transition from early days in school, even to your later years, I think this is a sort of thing that can really carry through someone’s entire life, especially, as we move into this, digital space working remotely. I can see a great deal of opportunity here. And we spoke here about preparing students for the workplace. No doubt, there’s gonna be an important issue with this, but that aside, what else, excites you the most, when it comes to the potential of social annotation? Joe Ferraro: I think the world is getting smaller every day. Even here a t Hypothesis, our team spreads across, I believe 15 different countries where we have to be Asynchronously but also being able to connect synchronously across a variety of documents time zones, and formats of information. And that’s what a lot of people are seeing in their day-to-day work right now. And so most students are really important part of what we do. I think the whole world is looking for ways to really streamline their communication, and make sure that they can share the data and the context that’s needed to get things done. So, I’m really excited about that. Joe Ferraro: Secondly, it’s just AI. If you asked me, even at Christmas time last year, what I thought of artificial intelligence, I probably wouldn’t have had a very strong opinion on where that’s gonna go. But we’ve seen what chat GPT and Google’s barred and all these other language models have been able to bring out. Those will start a text, and that’s what our tools are all about our annotations and texts things that people are thinking about things that people are trying to synthesize understand, and explain, and it’s gotten us starting to think about contacting, how can we use the type of information that people share in the platform to help them make more? Well-founded hypotheses and solve the big problems that are in front of them outside of that? It’s more than just AI in text. I think that it’s really starting to move to a place where Social Annotation you can really have no balance this fall. We’re launching video annotations so essentially transcribing and time coding any video that a student or organization wants to take a look at and giving people the opportunity to have a conversation over recorded material as well as image annotation. So if you’re taking an art history class in education, looking at a work by Michelangelo, it actually being able to talk about it, like you would in a museum. If you were there with your peers, it really opened up the Web to so many more opportunities for conversation. And so many more opportunities for understanding collaboration and learning, I think this is really just the beginning of almost fundamentally transforming the way that we use the Web. Between AI and different communication tools. Samuel Brake Guia: Yeah, it’s so interesting. There you mentioned AI, I find it creeping into the conversations I have on these calls more and more, especially Chat GPT as well. So I’m super interested to see how AI is gonna interact with this and how they’re gonna work together hand in hand. And you already mentioned a few things on how you see this developing but I want to know, for Hypothesis. What’s next for you folks? Joe Ferraro: There’s a lot coming down the pike Sam. First is just our continued commitment to the education space, our preparing to launch, probably our biggest fall in the history of the organization over 400 colleges and universities will be adopting this as part of their curriculum in August or September. And so making sure that we can continue to support the users that we have as well as get the next generation of college students, excited about social annotation and collaboration. On top of that, we have launched into the enterprise space and just the last 50 days or so. Yeah, we were launched on Team23, the large Atlassian user conference in Las Vegas. We’re actually the first external vendor to ever get mentioned at the keynote as a new feature in their platform. And so they’ve got about 500 million users around the world that are looking for different ways to collaborate and are just clamoring for ways to streamline that process. If your marketing team reviewing a competitor’s website rather than taking screenshots and emailing it to the team. They can actually highlight the text on a competitor site and tag their co-workers and pull a screenshot directly into confluence to understand what competitors doing for researchers and coders to me. Imagine being able to talk over a line of code without making edits and understand exactly what needs to be accomplished with the code writing. I think for us, this is a really big year as we come outside of education. But also helping the enterprise market, really get almost more of a sense of how their employees are collaborating and working and enabling them to do it more efficiently so that they can focus on what’s important and not worry so much about the administrative burden of using so many different tools. Samuel Brake Guia: That’s great. I mean I can see this streamlining so much and I can’t wait to see what comes from this. Um, our school uses the Graf method which is our self-developed method for teaching Spanish. It is a highly deductive method. Spanish language Dan Berges:  Deductive means that we first teach the rules and then we’ll practice them are supposed to an inductive method in which first examples are seen and then the student is expected to infer the rules from the examples. Samuel Brake Guia: I think you covered a lot there and I’m really excited to have you on here because I think languages are really interesting for me, I spent my teenage years in university learning Japanese, and I could speak it, and write it quite well, although it’s been about 10 years since I’ve dabbled in that. So everything feels like, it’s gone, that is until I hear something. And then maybe I recognize the one word and I speak Spanish as well. And  I’m gonna be going to Brazil soon, so I’m trying to learn Portuguese as well. So this is really come a fantastic time. So I’m very excited to speak with you Dan and I want to know, you touched on it slightly but when and how did Berges Institute first start? Dan Berges:  Yeah, so Berges Institue, we started in 2013, my business partner, Vanessa, and I opened a small studio in the upper side with developed the method back. Then I started to become very popular. So eventually we opened an Excel School in midtown with only two classrooms and then it is slowly it grew organically through the years, eventually before the pandemic in 2019, we have 1200 students. We had our school in New York, with like four spaces, and a big school in Chicago. And after the pandemic, we moved all our students online. And that is where we are right now. Samuel Brake Guia: Well, it sounds like you’ve grown a lot and you’ve made some real progress and I kind of want to talk about learning languages now in a general sense. So I want to know, can learning a new language enhances memory and cognitive abilities, and if so, can you please explain how? Dan Berges:  Most research shows that it improves cognitive ability in general also memory and also concentration, there are different theories that brain scans show an increase in the density of gray matter and also an increase of white matter. Brain scanners have limitations, right? They can only show blood flow, which will associate with neuron activity.  I mean we can talk about the research on Alzheimer’s disease and demons in general and how it can delay the onset. Basically, the theories are about how learning a new language creates alternative neural paths that not only work for the second language. But that also used in general cognitive function. Dan Berges:  So it’s basically a cover redundancy circuit like to put it to give you an analogy. Like, for example, planes have secondary electrical circuits in case that the first one, something happens to them during a flight. So it is kind of like that. And basically, those alternative paths enhance cognitive function in general. Samuel Brake Guia: That’s amazing. It’s quite incredible. How learning a language changes, your brain. I myself, sometimes, after speaking Spanish for a bit, I’ll then say things in English that don’t really translate. So obviously in Spanish, they say En este momento. and sometimes I’ll say, like, in this moment and then I’m like, wait, I don’t say that. So even in the short term, it really has an incredible impact on the brain. But I’d like to know like can you also share the different ways, learning a new language can delay Alzheimer’s symptoms and boost brain health? Dan Berges: So yeah, and delay is the key here because I studied show that it doesn’t really prevent Alzheimer’s, but it can delay the symptoms by quite a lot. So basically, there’s been a lot of research on this and Some results try to show whether it actually prevents alternators and the results were always negative. But the research that focus on the onset and like the development of the symptoms, it is pretty consistent. In the fact that even controlling for all sorts of variables, like educational background, etc, Um the average age of onset, for Alzheimer’s for people who are going to develop Alzheimer’s is over four years for bilingual people for people who speak a second language, and this might happen for up to five years, which is a quite a big deal. It’s a pretty dramatic effect. Samuel Brake Guia: That is pretty dramatic that’s quite impressive and it’s funny because I actually remember hearing that, I think it was like, I don’t know, 50 years ago, a hundred years ago, something like that. They actually thought that being bilingual was a bad thing in the sense that you couldn’t hold the capacity to speak really more than one language. So I think children that were raised in, maybe a household where they spoke one language like in the schools, They were heavily discouraged from continuing with that language. So I think there was definitely a sense of completely incorrect, theories and ideas and it’s so fantastic to see that having the skill and ability can benefit you so much more than being able to communicate with a wider group of people. And obviously we’ve spoken so much about the benefits here of learning a second language or another language. And for anyone who has decided, you know what? I’m I want to take this up. What advice do you have for them? And yeah how can they get started with this? Dan Berges: Oh yeah. So I mean my advice is that learning a second? Language is a long-term process. So basically my most important piece of advice would be to enjoy the process and to kind of like get obsessed with it for for a few years to try to have as much exposure to the language as possible. Um, on top of that, I would recommend following a program. And in particular, I favor a deductive program. Our program is deductive and many other programs are deductive, inductive problems can work as well. But research shows that for adults, the deductive program can be faster and also reduce frustration. Dan Berges:  So my recommendation would be just to have a long-term plan in which you combine following a serious program, like taking classes and following our curriculum, and on top of that having as much exposure to the language as possible in ways that you enjoy. So that could be like watching a lot of TV in your target language, listening to podcasts and radio eventually reading as much as possible that helps a lot. And then all those sorts of things, trying to basically review all different components of the language in many different ways. Basically recent shows that recall and spacing a really good for memory services. So that means basically thinking about the language and parts of the language often. And trying to give some space between studying sessions and basically doing that for a few years, will lead to having like a pretty good level of fluency the in the target language. Samuel Brake Guia: Yeah, I think there’s a some great pieces of wisdom there and I have to say to add to that, I think music’s fantastic. I know you did mention about like podcasts and watching TV music can be great. Although, I find that music can be difficult, it’s a double-edged sword. It’s fantastic for learning things. And like kind of understanding them in a very kind of like informal context but also, it depends on the kind of music because a lot of the times music doesn’t always make sense. I mean, if you take some songs, the lyrics are just like gibberish. So sometimes in the past when I’ve tried to learn a language and I’ve just taken a song and I’ve asked a native speaker. What does this mean? They’re like, I don’t know, this doesn’t make sense and I’m like, How does it not make sense? And then they point to rappers in English and I’m like, You know what, I understand like those rappers don’t make any sense. So it’s, yeah, you’re just gonna be careful. Dan Berges: Yeah, absolutely. Samuel Brake Guia:  Fantastic. Well, you folks sound like you’re doing some great things and I want to know like what’s on the horizon. Few folks. What’s next up Berges Institute? Dan Berges:  Yeah, so we are expanding to other markets like we’ve recently expanded into the UK market and we also expanding now into the Indian market. On top of that, we are doing some research on AI and Natural Language Processing. We launched a deep Spanish back in November which is a chatbot service with three different tablets with three different personalities that help our students practice their Spanish And we’re still doing more research. I guess it’s pretty early on. But it is a hot topic right now, especially after the release of chat GPT. Dan Berges:  So far deeper Spanish has been, our only product. It’s still in beta but it’s been very popular so far. On top of that. We are doing some other research with machine learning and processing like pronunciation. And we have a few other projects in there that we are experimenting with. Samuel Brake Guia: Fantastic. Since the industry is still untouched by many, there are incredible opportunities for students, teachers and researchers to produce good quality scientific content and connect with their audience. However, creating scientific podcasts can be a challenging task. To make an effective one, individuals need to understand the complexity of scientific topics. Additionally, you must also demonstrate the ability to communicate the important points of the complex topic in simple language for the audience to understand. Once a clear script is created, the next steps include recording, editing, uploading and connecting with the audience. If you are new to this, then here is a complete guide of recording a scientific podcast and making it a hit amongst your audience. Equipment required for recording New presenters might find it confusing to select the right recording equipment. It is a common belief that the quality really depends on the equipment used. However, new podcasters can start with a small setup and gradually expand their list. Here is a list of basic hardware tools required for recording: A microphone While it is easy to record with the help of a smartphone or an in-built computer microphone, using a separate microphone for recording will make your scientific podcast sound more professional. However, due to the small screen size, a smartphone is not an optimal option. A computer will not only make it easier for you to record but also will come handy to edit, save and upload your work. Additional equipment A microphone and a computer are the most basic and important tools required for any recording. However, as you progress in your podcasting journey you can invest in more tools such as an audio interface, a mixer, a pop filter or a windscreen, compressor, microphone stand, headphone, headphone amplifier, shock mount, etc. Software requirements Once you have recorded your audio, the next step is to edit it and publish it. GarageBand is one of the widely used software for editing audio files. Although it is free software, it is only available for Mac users and is not available on computers powered by Windows. However, Windows users can use Audacity which is also a free audio editor. One of the best features of Audacity is that it is an open-source audio editor which means users can easily make changes to the original code. Audacity also offers online tutorials and videos for new podcasters to efficiently use the software. Other commonly used podcast editing software includes Adobe Audition, Alitu and Descript. After editing your content, you can move forward to the publishing stage and upload it. However, signing up to a media host is an important publishing step. With the help hosting sites such as Soundcloud, Libsyn and TuneIn you can publish your episodes online. Apps such as iTunes and Spotify will then pull your show from these sites and will make it available to a global audience. Furthermore, you can also use hosting services such as Speaker or Omny. Apart from being user-friendly, these services also make it easier for the users to organise and publish different episodes in one place. Software for organising guest sessions For those planning to record with a co-host or interview long-distance guests, then specific software such as SquadCast and Zoom can help you in recording each speaker on a separate track. If you want to only record the audio, then SquadCast can assist you in recording high-quality lossless audio without recording the video conferencing. If you are planning to record both audio and video content of your guest session, then Zoom is one of the best online interview platforms. However, while recording a guest session in Zoom, you will have to compromise on the audio quality might as the audio is compressed. Steps involved in publishing a podcast Since you cannot directly publish your podcasts, here is an example of the steps involved in publishing on iTunes: 1. Before you publish, create an RSS feed. Sites such as Libsyn and Podbean automatically create the RSS feed for their users. 2. After creating an RSS feed, click on “Submit a Podcast” on the iTunes Store. 3. Next enter your feed URL as well as other information such as Name, Description and Author. 4. When you submit your show, you will get a confirmation message from iTunes about the status of your submission. Once approved, it will be available to audiences in three to five days.
