Howdy Hackers! I’m Ksana Liapkova and I’m Head of Admitad ConvertSocial.

First off, I’d like to express my gratitude to the staff, and all other beautiful humans of HackerNoon, for nominating me for a 2022 Noonies award!

I’ve been nominated for the following categories and if you think my writing offers good value, please take some time to check out these award pages and vote for me:

  1. HACKERNOON CONTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR- SOCIAL-MEDIA

As a writer in the tech industry, I believe that social media is the most exciting technology of the present because we can stay in touch and know everything about each other even staying thousands of miles away. Learn more about my views on social media and my journey in the tech industry via the interview below.

1. What do you currently do and what’s your favorite part about it?

I am CEO of Admitad ConvertSocial and my key task is to grow my business, revenue and the number of happy clients. It is difficult to single out any particular favourite part of work, because it's all one big interconnected process, and each stage inspires me, starting from hiring a team, setting goals, creating a strategy, testing hypotheses, launching viral campaigns and overseeing the whole process of creating new features. But ultimately, our clients' results are my most favourite part!

2. How did you get started with your Tech Career?

I’ve been working in affiliate marketing and content monetization for over seven years now. When bloggers became a bigger part of our daily picture, I tended to work more with them. By 2015, I shifted to affiliate marketing and CPA (i.e., cost per action model in advertising). I’ve launched marketing activities and worked closely with hundreds of bloggers and major brands in multiple countries, from the United States to Thailand. My experience led me to Admitad and the Admitad ConvertSocial platform, which I now manage.

I understand bloggers’ needs and have profound expertise in the CPA market. I know how this system works from the inside. Therefore, I understand how a product should develop, with an emphasis on bloggers.

It’s cool to find an activity in life that makes you happy, while also benefiting others.

3. If Utopia were a color what color do you think it’d be and why?

I’d say mauve! Something mysterious, a bit transparent and foggy, yet desirable.

4. If everything about HackerNoon changed drastically, what is one detail you’d like to keep exactly the same?  OR What’s your favorite thing to do with HackerNoon and why?

Community. HackerNoon is a fantastic place for like minded and creative tech crowd and it would be my most favorite part about this fabulous space!

5. Tell us more about the things you write/make/manage/build!

I mostly write on affiliate marketing, digital marketing and creator economy, since those are my areas of expertise. And I manage a big team of amazing people at Admitad ConvertSocial, overseeing our business goals internationally.

6. What’s your favorite thing about the internet?

Social media and the fact that they constantly develop new features for the users and content creators’ community. For example, Instagram integrates paid subscriptions for bloggers and continues to develop direct sales methods within the social network (Shopping Tags). Also the Public Broadcast Chat is an important addition. YouTube conducts a closed product sales test, where only a few bloggers have access now, while Pinterest rolled out several new features for sellers.

7. It’s an apocalypse of ‘walking dead’ proportions and you can only own a singular piece of technology, what would it be?

That’s a good one! I haven't thought about it before, although it's nice to be ready for any apocalypse. I choose my phone - want to have this opportunity to listen to music, order delivery or turn on sleep mode.

8. What is your least favorite thing about the internet?

Online bullying is something that more and more people are facing. Unfortunately, violating personal boundaries is common now. And of course information wars, so the Internet is now the most powerful tool for spreading fake news and intimidating people.

9. If you were given $10 million to invest in something today what would you invest in and why?

I would definitely invest part of it in ConvertSocial, because I sincerely believe in my product and my team. The remaining amount would be spent on orphanages and animal shelters.

10. What’s something you’re currently learning or excited to learn?

I am currently studying product management and gaining new knowledge on how to create a product market fit.

11. Would you rather travel 10 years into the past or 10 years into the future? Give reasons for your answer.

It makes more sense to me to travel to the future, as from a business point of view I can learn about trends in advance. However, I prefer staying present and enjoying the moment.
