Big data architecture is an overarching infrastructure that allows for the analysis of large data sets. Data ingestion is a key component of data infrastructure, enabling organizations to derive business value from data. Data lakes are ideal for this as it allows us to dump in all the data we want without structure and then apply that structure when we need it. Data lake is a way of storing data in a storage repository where you can see the relationship between all its parts. A data lake can hold raw data and transformed versions of source system data used for tasks such as reporting and analytics.
