HackerNoon: What is your company in 2–5 words?

Adam Bennet: World-leading TDIR specialists.

Why is now the time for your company to exist?

Threat actors are more active and persistent than ever, and organisations need a holistic security solution that is there for them, working round the clock, detecting, and responding to threats in real-time. And Red Piranha does that and more.

What do you love about your team, and why are you the ones to solve this problem?

We have a mission-driven team with people who eat, sleep, and breathe security. We are a security-first organisation and this is what separates us from the big fours in the industry. We are a pure-bred security company, and security is what we do and what we specialise in.

If you weren’t building your startup, what would you be doing?

I would be hacking and doing threat hunting and threat intelligence. I would be doing it for the love of it.

At the moment, how do you measure success? What are your metrics?

When we have helped an organisation do what we do - implement security and uplift its security posture, that is how we measure our success. And, of course, when we achieve great things within our technical team like we were the first Oceanic company to join the Cyber Threat Alliance, based out of Washington DC and breaking the world firewall speed record. We have done these amazing things with a small team.

In a few sentences, what do you offer to whom?

We bring our passion and our commitment to security to all our customers.

What’s most exciting about your traction to date?

The most exciting part about our traction to date is our remarkable growth and the partners and clients who joined us in our journey. Red Piranha is an official member of Team Defence Australia. We are a world leader in Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI). Our appointment in the highly regarded Cyber Threat Intelligence is a testament to our increased technical capabilities and commitment to quality with CTI. As one of its top contributors, we offer contextualised CTI feeds to its members and the wider security industry.

Where do you think your growth will be next year?

Over the years, we have been working with a lot more larger organisations, and we have seen a lot more larger customers coming to us and more from the government and defence sector. So, we will see more growth in those sectors and different others. We also look forward to growing in other regions like India and the US.

Tell us about your first paying customer and revenue expectations over the next year.

Our first paying customer is a large multinational health organisation, and this is our fourth year of operations with them. We are looking at about 40% to 60% revenue growth over the next 12 months, as we enter more markets around the world like the US, and further expansion across the APAC and into India and even Europe.

What’s your biggest threat?

The biggest threat for us will be if people stop hacking. We might go out of business.
