A VPN is incredibly useful for many reasons, including privacy, security, and freedom to access content without restrictions. But in this day and age, having such a service on only one device will be restrictive. Many users will likely have a lot of different devices under their ownership — including phones, desktops, and laptops — and putting a VPN on only one of them will lessen the experience offered by the rest. Thankfully, there are many VPN services supporting multiple devices, with some of the best ones already offering top-notch quality.

List of The Best VPNs for Multiple Devices

  • 1. ExpressVPN
  • 2. NordVPN
  • 3. SurfShark
  • 4. TunnelBear
  • 5. AtlasVPN

1. ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN is a solid option regardless of how many devices it supports. It’s fast, secure, and favors anonymity. However, it also allows users to connect the service to a total of 5 devices. This is actually on the low side when compared to other services, but it’s still a very high number compared to what the average person might have. For a couple of devices between two people, or for multiple dedicated devices under a single user, ExpressVPN is a perfect choice.

Whether you go for the service’s 12-month plan (+3 free months) for around $6.67 USD per month or the single-month plan for around $12.95, it won’t change the number of devices you can have active at once. Of course, if you’re going to be testing all of those devices out, you’ll likely be hard-pressed to take full advantage of the 30-day money-back guarantee. It’s easier to choose with the lack of extra packages or paid features, but you should still keep the upsides and downsides of each commitment in mind.

2. NordVPN

In many ways, NordVPN is similar to ExpressVPN. Both services offer fantastic speeds and great security, competing fairly well with each other in many areas. In terms of multiple devices, though, NordVPN has the edge by offering six connections at once instead of five. However, it notes that there are some restrictions to this, with different devices needing to use different protocols. You’ll still be able to use the VPN on each device, but you can’t simply use the exact same settings across them all.

Though NordVPN offers a Standard package at around $3.49 per month for a two-year plan, those with many devices will find a lot of use out of the Complete package. Priced at around $5.99 per month for a two-year plan — or around $14.49 for a single-month plan — this package includes a cross-platform password manager and 1 TB of cloud storage. It’s a lot more expensive in the long run, but it’s worth it if you want everything you have to be truly connected.

3. SurfShark

SurfShark can also compete fairly well with other major services when it comes to overall quality. Where it truly shines is with its policy on multiple devices, as it allows an unlimited number of them to be connected at once. This comes with the bonus of no bandwidth limits, ensuring all devices will be getting great speed no matter what. Just be aware that the company discourages illegitimate use of its service, so trying to use too many at once might still not be very possible.

For a 24-month subscription plan, SurfShark is priced at around $2.49 per month. A 1-month subscription is around $12.95. You can also bundle this with extras like real-time alerts and an antivirus, though it’s not as easy to use these on the same number of devices as the VPN. You don’t have access to the widest range of features out there, but SurfShark is one of the best multi-device VPNs you can find — if, ironically, you’re willing to restrain yourself from using it in too many places.

4. TunnelBear

While not exactly well-known compared to the biggest services, TunnelBear is still a great choice for a multi-device VPN. It’s another service that offers unlimited connections at any time, and it doesn’t specify any restrictions on this benefit. It doesn’t have the best set of features or even the greatest speed, but its overall friendliness towards usage on multiple devices makes it an attractive choice for this purpose.

TunnelBear offers a free plan and a business plan for multiple users, but it’s likely that most will want to go with the basic Unlimited plan. This costs around $3.33 per month for a 3-year plan or $9.99 for a simple one-month plan. The additions in the Teams plan don’t justify the extra cost and the Free plan is barely anything more than a way to test the features. Still, the free plan makes for a good way to see if TunnelBear truly is right for you.

5. AtlasVPN

As one more service that offers unlimited connectivity, AtlasVPN might prove to be one of the more valuable picks. Like TunnelBear, it doesn’t state any major discouragements or restrictions on using multiple devices. It also offers its own free version that can be used anywhere as much as the user wants. Where it truly shines is in its paid version, though, thanks to the price being extremely welcoming.

A one-month purchase of AtlasVPN costs around $10.99. This is nothing special, but a full three-year commitment is only around $1.83 per month while offering an extra three months of service. You might lose out on some extra features or speed, but a full commitment towards AtlasVPN will be the most lucrative choice you can make if you only care about using it on multiple devices.

Final Thoughts

No matter what VPN you choose, trade-offs will need to be made if you want to use the service with more devices at a time. It would still be cheaper and more valuable than purchasing new subscriptions for every single device, but there are many factors to consider when making the decision nonetheless.

If you only happen to use one or two devices at a time, maybe you should focus more on speed and reliability and check out our list of VPNs with no lag.
