🙌 Hi, Web3 Folks!

🔷 Starbucks Odyssey, a web3 loyalty program, released its first collection of 2,000 limited-edition NFTs called “Stamps”. During the invite-only launch, the site still experienced errors as it was overwhelmed by the traffic, and the collection was sold out in just 18 minutes.

🔷 Hermes wants the MetaBirkin project to be forbidden. Hermès recently resolved the NFT trademark lawsuit and was awarded $133k, but is now requesting Rothschild (the artist behind the MetaBirkin project) to abandon the entire project, including its smart contracts and social media NFT communities.

🔷 Back in 2018, Vitalik Buterin, social activist Glen Weyl, and economist Zoë Hitzig from Harvard University released a paper on Quadratic Funding, a public fundraising mechanism. Now, Buterin created NFTs out of it. The token minting was facilitated by Gitcoin & Metalabel.

Collectors produced 9,221 tokens at a base price of 0.5 ETH, equivalent to roughly $770. One week later, OpenSea data indicates that the collection’s trading volume amounts to 7,763 ETH or almost $12 million at the time of writing.

🔷 The North Face has introduced a set of NFTs tapping into the Chinese consumers’ interest in adventure and outdoor-themed products in the post-pandemic market.

Due to regulations in China, NFTs cannot be bought directly, and customers can only obtain them by purchasing a specific product from The North Face.

🔷 NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) is introducing a 3D experience called “Speed Hub” in the Roblox metaverse, building on their previous entry into this virtual space in 2021.

That’s it for today!
