Anyone is free to use, modify, fork and redistribute the project’s code as they like. 99% of commerical codebases contain at least some open-source components. Tim Berners-Lee, founding father of the internet, believes that powerful corporations today have become gatekeepers of innovation. The movement encourages programmers and teams to find new ways to solve problems in their communities and industries.
