Up until recently, a lot of technology has been widely abused in order to keep users pacified. This has been done despite a growing need for a re-evaluation of governance and construction processes.
Technology has been frequently weaponized as a method of division against humanity. It has been used to spy on us, control us, and influence us.
Turns out, technology can be used against us in every way possible. The media misleads us with false information. The entertainment industry distracts us. Our political leaders are leading us to a place that I'm afraid we don't want to go, and they're doing all of this with the very thing that should have been a liberation for us all, technology.
United, we can put an end to the gross misuse of personal information, and to regain ownership of our digital creations.
Civilization has never seen innovation leaps as giant as in the past 30 years, but the growth of technology has only just begun.
We probably cannot even imagine what we will see in the coming years. We live in an exciting and scary time.
That's why this opportunity to separate our virtual world from our corporate and political worlds is vital.
Digital growth and global connection should have made us more free. Financial opportunities should have been made more abundant and inclusive.
There is a lot of promise in how Web3 is constructed. It is promising in terms of ending censorship, restoring privacy, distributing and verifying true information, and expanding financial opportunities accordingly.
Knowledge, communication, and entrepreneurship have never had a better network of possibilities than it does now. We no longer have to give in to allowing our digital selves to be held for ransom.
The tech behind this digital resistance is still so new, and widely unknown, that the more people who get involved in the development of Web3, the more likely we will be able to break free from the technological tyrants running the show.
Organizations like the WAM, Fair Data Society, Swarm, Gitcoin, Fluence, Octopus Network are already fighting for universal freedom. The more individuals that are involved the quicker this change can take place!
When you Google Web3, the results that are available on the first page make it sound like it's a myth, scam, or just a pipe dream for geeks.
It does not inspire the pursuit of change or the belief in something different, but that’s the wrong vibe. The concept should be inspiring. It is already being built and grown by activists, innovators, artists, developers, creators, and individuals all uniting to create a better future.
They need help! The more the merrier! Every industry is going to need people contributing to the growth of the new web, the new way of doing things. Find out how you can get involved and help us all get to that future faster.
