Too Long; Didn't Read
A UTXO (unspent transaction output) is the output of a transaction that a user receives and is able to spend in the future. In its simplest form, it can be compared to cash, however, it has some interesting properties that differentiate it from cash. The network requires you to send at least one full UTO in order to complete a transaction. Unlike cash, they, unlike fiat coins and bills, can be of any value. This is beneficial for a few reasons, for example, you could have UTXOs whose value equals $1,000,000.00 but if you wanted the same in cash, you’d have to carry 10,000x $100.00 bills.
