First off, great writing across your whole account, I find your articles delightfully easy to browse.

I do disagree with the metaverse's existence, yes reality. Both recognize **now** “the great online game” and the **metaverse** “the internet as a game”, the whole thing.

Personally, I find NFT exciting, reliance-increasing, power consorting, and expensive before they are even almost any game item. I only briefed your standards preferences but it felt they were toward graphic representation (unity or unreal iirc) while I think pfp meta-wrapping (quoting an nft project) or an open-repository of multiple graphic representations of the same item (on ipfs or otherwise) is cool I don’t think it’s what makes it a game.

I see NFT, gfx engine, the global state of data (eth, btc, poly, etc) as enabling a more powerful metaverse. The Internet as a game has (almost) always existed it’s just becoming more relevant at an accelerating speed.

p.s. ultimately i see “decentralized internet” or web3 as a sovereign account, identity system which needs to operate on interfaces, some of which will eventually become game portals to irl like robinhood stock in a GTA 6 terminal.

I think one of the biggest issues right now (which i’m about to plug urbit for) is trialing OS… opening the OS demo as an app in Windows rather than forcing attempted dual boot/new OS.

It’s definitely true that finding someone willing to put in +/- years of commitment for little or no reward is difficult.

In some ways there is a very real truth to Paul G. dissing on solo-founders. Yet, you cannot always choose which way the wind blows or when a global pandemic will remove the ability to meet people.

I had one before it, I lost them because of it, I was not meeting people because people were not around, and I didn’t want to start another company with internet people I couldn’t or had never met before (again).

I don’t think it’s so foolish to wish for a partner, I don’t think it’s honorable to not have one, when my motivations are overshadowed by a belief of non-reality I suppose I’ll have no choice but to quit.

That is an everlasting creep of belief that is made further away by people around you.
