My path to founding ResearchCollab.ai wasn't a straight line. It was a 20-year journey of trial, error, and education. My first major venture in the 2000s was a success by many metrics—a website with 95,000 members—but I learned a tough lesson about the importance of focus. My second attempt taught me an even tougher lesson about product-market fit. Though I returned to my corporate career, I still had that burning desire to build something meaningful. To ensure my next venture would be different, I went back to school, starting a Doctorate in Business Administration. My goal was to equip myself with the frameworks to avoid past mistakes. Ironically, the program itself exposed me to the biggest opportunity yet. As I dove deep into academic literature, I was stunned by how manual and inefficient the research process was.
