Orbs technical co-founder, Tal Kol, and senior software engineer, Shahar Yakir, will serve as TON developer specialists for the London and Tel Aviv events, respectively. The two will provide mentorship to the participating teams and evaluate their code and GitHub repositories as part of the hackathon's technical judging panel.
The Tel Aviv conference will run from the 19th through the 20th of February, while the London conference will kick off on the 25th. Participants in the hackathon will be charged with creating something for the TON mainnet or coming up with a new model for current initiatives, with a special emphasis on foundational technologies like DeFi, decentralised digital identification, and DAOs. The winning teams will split the $300,000 in prize money, access to the TONcoin Fund, funding for security audits, and introductions to investors and venture capitalists.
Orbs' expansion into the TON ecosystem and development of various Layer-3 apps in 2022 paved the way for TON's involvement in these two events, which are being sponsored as part of the ongoing partnership between the two companies. Orbs has been acknowledged by the TON Foundation as an important collaborator in the foundation's efforts to realise a decentralised future and strengthen the TON community.
