Where AI Becomes a Liability Last month, I watched a junior developer use AI to “fix” a memory leak. The AI’s solution? Increase the heap size. When that failed, it suggested increasing it again. $8,000 in AWS bills later, we discovered the actual issue: a circular reference the AI created in the first place. They’re set up to fail by a narrative that looks good on slides but collapses in production. Imagine being told: “Don’t worry about understanding it. AI will handle it”.
