The Magic Shop
Too Long; Didn't Read
H.G. G. Wells visited the Magic Shop in Regent Street, London. He had never thought of the shop until he saw it in the window. Wells' son Gip took him in, and the shopman was behind the counter. Wells had a tiger in papier-mache on the glass case that covered the low counter. There was several crystal spheres, a china hand holding magic cards, a stock of magic fish-bowls in various sizes. On the floor were magic mirrors; one to draw you out long and thin, one to swell your head and vanish your legs.
