Discover the ultimate tool to boost your effectiveness tenfold! The secret? Prompting, the unique language of AIs.
But what is prompting? According to Sander Schulhoff, the creator of learnprompting.org, it is the art of communicating with AIs, involving artificial social intelligence.
In a recent interview on the What’s AI podcast, Schulhoff shared some valuable insights on how to talk with AI using prompting.
For instance, any written text, including instructions like “draw me an image of a cow” or “write an email to my boss about me calling in sick for work today,” are prompts. Even non-text content, such as images or audio voice, can be used to as prompts for AIs.
Well, because AIs often understand things differently than humans do, and poor prompting can lead to unwanted results.
By improving your prompting skills, you can gain better control over the model's output and achieve your desired results.
Schulhoff suggests using strategies like zero-shot chain of thought, where you ask the model to think through its steps, and few-shot prompting, where you show the model examples of what you expect it to do.
You can learn more about these strategies and more on the free learnprompting.org platform and in this podcast episode.
As an example, if you're a non-native English speaker, you can use ChatGPT to rephrase your scripts, helping me produce better videos using it as an editor instead of an end-to-end writer.
However, I want to warn you that such AIs are not yet fully equipped to handle the task and can pose high plagiarism concerns due to their training data.
