This allows us to test the functionality of the app without using real Ether or ELIX. Push notifications will keep creators and backers up to date. Product Upload Demo Video This week we’re excited to share a video demo of the new web portal for uploading new products. Check out this video to see how much more streamlined uploading products will be in the future: Due to some questionable areas of performance and ambiguity in their Terms of Service we’ve decided to move away from using Google’s Firebase platform. We’re currently implementing our own back end with MongoDB, a REST API, and Amazon AWS S3 for media storage. Our goal is to keep things as modular as possible to minimize scaling concerns as well as the amount of refactoring necessary to swap services. This will let us quickly leverage any useful services or platforms that are released in the future as blockchain and other decentralized solutions continue to improve. We want to be able to take full advantage of decentralized infrastructure, while also not being inhibited in the short term by the scaling problems that are being worked on.
