Last month, I went hunting with two friends, Queena Constance and Brian Mark, in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in the western United States. This is a national forest with an area of over 3.5 million acres and is one of the largest national forests in the United States. We chose this place because it has abundant wildlife resources. We planned to stay there for a week, rest during the day, and hunt at night.

Why choose to hunt at night? There are two reasons: first, hunting at night is more challenging and exciting because we have to find targets in the dark while also paying attention to our own safety. Second, hunting at night can avoid high temperatures and strong light during the day, as well as interference from other tourists, allowing us to better enjoy the beauty of nature.

Of course, to hunt at night, you need suitable night vision equipment. We chose two different types of night vision equipment: night vision binoculars and infrared binoculars. Both of these devices allow us to see targets clearly in the dark, but their principles and effects are different. We decided to use them separately and compare their advantages and disadvantages.

Bridger-Teton National Forest is a national forest in western Wyoming with an area of 3.4 million acres and is one of the largest national forests in the United States except for Alaska. This forest extends from Yellowstone National Park to the eastern boundary of Grand Teton National Park, then along the western slope of the continental divide to the southern end of Wind River Range. The forest also extends southward, including the Salt River Range and Wyoming Range near the Idaho border.

Bridger-Teton National Forest has rich natural resources and ecological diversity. There are three national wilderness areas in the forest: Bridger Wilderness, Gros Ventre Wilderness, and Teton Wilderness, with a total area of 1.2 million acres. All of these make Bridger-Teton National Forest part of the 20 million-acre Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, which is the largest intact ecosystem in the continental United States.

Bridger-Teton National Forest is also a habitat for many wild animals. There are 74 species of mammals in the forest, including deer, antelope, elk, coyotes, wolves, deer, bison, beavers, and grizzly and black bears. In addition, there are more than 300 species of birds, as well as various reptiles, amphibians and fish. During the hunting period, you can see many animal tracks and sounds and sometimes observe their behavior up close. Our main targets for hunting are deer and elk because they are more common and easier to find in this area. Of course, we must also avoid disturbing or alarming other animals, especially those that are protected or endangered.

The area we hunted was mainly concentrated in several places in the middle and south of the forest. One of them is the Hoback area, which is near the head of the Upper Hoback Trail and is a place suitable for hunting deer and elk. There is a Hoback Guard Station here where we can stay or rent equipment. Another place is the Wyoming Range area, which is near the Snyder Guard Station and South Piney Trailhead and is a place suitable for hunting sheep and antelope. During the hunting process in Bridger-Teton National Forest, we not only enjoyed the fun of hunting but also appreciated the beautiful scenery and wildlife in the forest. We saw spectacular peaks, clear lakes, dense forests, vast grasslands and colorful flowers. We also saw various animals, some of which we had never seen before and some of which we had only seen on TV. We recorded these beautiful moments with cameras and felt these natural wonders with our hearts. The 4-inch high-definition screen can observe the details and colors of targets and surrounding environments. This screen can display images with high resolution and high color reproduction, and has a wide-angle field of view. We can choose the most comfortable viewing posture by rotating the screen.

The built-in 5W infrared illuminator can see targets within 500 meters in complete darkness. This infrared illuminator can emit invisible infrared light to illuminate targets and surrounding environments and reflect them on the screen. We can choose the lighting effect that suits us best by adjusting the infrared intensity. In this way, we can discover and track targets in the dark without being affected by environmental light or weather.

The rechargeable battery can be used continuously for more than 8 hours. This battery can be charged through a USB interface or a power socket, and has a battery level display function. We can arrange our hunting time and route according to the battery level.

Night vision binoculars and infrared night vision binoculars are two different types of night vision equipment, each with its own advantages and disadvantages in night hunting. Our night hunting trip was very successful and enjoyable.
