Olayimika Oyebanji: Decentralized advertising is an interesting use case, Krzysztof. Before we dive into it, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Krzysztof Bochenek: Hello, Olayimika! I'm thrilled to be here. I have a deep passion for blockchain technology and its transformative capabilities. I am an active 29-year-old entrepreneur who has been involved in this industry for over 6 years.


My journey into blockchain advertising started with the belief that it could revolutionize the advertising landscape for the better.


I am happy that my professional path now is mainly related to the creation of innovative web projects built on the Adshares ecosystem.


I am also a co-owner of the local Bitcoin Exchange Office, and I engage my time in different personal as well as academic projects.

Olayimika Oyebanji: That's fascinating! What inspired you to explore blockchain technology?

Krzysztof Bochenek: The potential of blockchain to address the challenges of traditional advertising, especially in terms of user privacy and transparency, captured my attention.


I saw an opportunity to create a better and more user-centric advertising ecosystem. Starting by investing in Bitcoin, through academic activities and several blockchain projects, I professionally work in this field for several years.


I am sure that blockchain technology will be part of everyday life in the future, but not in the way we visualized it a few years ago or even today. What inspires me most is that we are designing the future world we will live in.

Olayimika Oyebanji: Indeed, traditional advertising has its flaws. Is there any truth in saying that online advertising is broken?

Krzysztof Bochenek: Absolutely, Olayimika. The online advertising industry is riddled with challenges such as ad fraud and a lack of privacy. Users are bombarded with unsolicited ads, and advertisers often pay for clicks or impressions that don't reach their intended audience.

Olayimika Oyebanji: It's clear that a paradigm shift is needed. What are the biggest challenges facing the industry today?

Krzysztof Bochenek: Ad fraud and lack of privacy are indeed the most significant challenges. The prevalence of ad fraud costs advertisers substantial resources, and privacy concerns arise from the collection and misuse of users' personal data.

Olayimika Oyebanji: Blockchain seems to offer a promising solution. How is it a viable remedy to the issues plaguing the advertising industry?

Krzysztof Bochenek: Blockchain introduces transparency, immutability, and verifiable data, which combats ad fraud and ensures accountability. By securely managing user data using the blockchain, privacy concerns are significantly mitigated.


Another aspect is the payment flow. In the normal advertising world, there are several parties that hold your money for as long as 90 days or more.


They also charge very high fees. In our designed blockchain solution with ADS payments, each publisher is able to pay out earnings every hour.


And every transfer is settled on the blockchain, so basically our value proposition for digital advertising is fast and cheap payments.

Olayimika Oyebanji: Adshares is at the forefront of this transformation. Can you tell us more about it and the inspiration behind its founding?

Krzysztof Bochenek: Adshares is a decentralized advertising platform founded in 2017. The founder's vision was to create the first advertising ecosystem where the product is given to the community.


With community involvement, our developers have created an environment where anyone can set up their own ad network dedicated to regular websites, social media, or the metaverse.


In a winning scenario, we will see thousands of companies built on our technology.
