When you first start writing a new React application, the feature set is small, and the React API is simple, yet flexible and powerful enough to handle state management. Eventually however, your application grows bigger, and the shortcomings of React’s <code class="markup--code markup--p-code">setState</code> at handling state management for larger applications become obvious, in a painful manner.
