Mr. Skelmersdale In Fairyland
Too Long; Didn't Read
H. G. Wells visited Bignor in the summer to complete a chapter on Spiritual Pathology. He met an ordinary lout who had been in Fairyland. Wells had run into a double figure break into double figures, which was uncommonly good play. Wells was open and sortiable in a commonplace of way, but on that subject he had been. Only once he did the slightest allusion to his experience in his presence, and that was by a cross-grained hand.
