Hey everyone!

I'm Paul a QA head with over 8 years of experience in IT, specializing in QA. I've been involved in

a wide range of projects primarily focused on products. From testing rockets pre-launch to evaluating smart contracts, I've traversed diverse domains.

Currently, I’m leading a team of 30 skilled QA professionals in a cryptocurrency product company.

Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?

My last story was about Implementing a New QA Role for Faster Releases.

Confronted with challenges like integration bugs, lack of test artifact reuse, and preparing test environments for feature acceptance, I realized the need to introduce a novel role in IT to address these issues.

Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?

I'm sharing my QA expertise with fellow professionals, focusing on articles about enhancing the QA process. But you know what? There's a whole bunch of exciting topics to dive into – I just need to find the time to put pen to paper. These topics range from rocket launches and deep dives into rocket technology to how surfing experiences play a role in my professional growth, and much more.

Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)

First of all, choosing a topic is one of the most crucial parts. This includes gathering ideas over a span of time, typically a few weeks. Afterward, I carefully choose the three most engaging subjects. I proceed to create an outline of the chosen topic's content. Then, I select one topic and thoroughly explore each aspect. Following that, I refine the content, preserving the most captivating elements, and integrate essential visuals such as images and graphs.

Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?

The biggest challenge is presenting information in an engaging and clear manner. In written communication, conveying emotions and experiences is more challenging compared to face-to-face interactions. Hence, it's crucial to make your content both captivating and comprehensible. You should be able to present the material in a way that even a grandmother, who is not tech-savvy, can understand.

What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?

I enjoy meticulous planning, and my next career steps encompass three objectives:

  1. Participation in a hackathon
  2. Continuing to publish articles
  3. Conducting a UX course for testers.

Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?

Just relaxing in bed on a weekend eating spicy food and engrossed in a series.

Do you have a non-tech-related hobby? If yes, what is it?

I'll just describe it with a picture.

Surfing ranks among my top leisure activities. It also aids in structuring thoughts effectively.

What can the Hacker Noon community expect to read from you next?

My intention is to persist in sharing insights into best QA practices and my personal journey in the QA field. The upcoming article will delve into harnessing artificial intelligence for creating API tests.

What’s your opinion on HackerNoon as a platform for writers?

From my point of view, it’s an excellent knowledge-sharing platform. Beyond being a user-friendly authoring platform, it also proves to be a remarkable avenue for readers, delivering content tailored to their preferences.

Thanks for taking the time to join our “Meet the writer” series. It was a pleasure. Do you have any closing words?

Thank you for your attention!

Would like to end with a quote from Winston Churchill:

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

So never think of giving up and do your job with pleasure, even if you have failed several times in a row.
