Minneapolis police have tracked nearly 50 carjackings of Uber and Lyft drivers since mid-August. Twelve such incidents happened in the third week of October alone. Police departments from Chicago, Cleveland and Washington have seen an uptick in carjacking. In the last two years, 339 carjings and attempted carjackments have increased by 339 percent over the past two years.
