In this article, I want to look at the state of consumer robots, and speculate if the current “social distancing” requirements because of the COVID-19 virus will actually lead to a “robot boom” in both funding and practical applications that have been predicted for a long time. Unlike industrial robots, which have been working away busily at factories around the world for years, real world robots are few and far between.
