TLDR
Some companies are no longer able to bring on interns for the summer. You can still make an effective use of this time to work on projects and improve your interview skills. There are also opportunities to take up tutoring and teach computer science in other ways to keep your skills sharp. The next interview season is not very far away, so be prepared for it to be able to land the next job.
