Waltonchain and the China Mobile IoT Alliance — Connecting the Dots with Crypto’s Biggest Announcement of 2018

Whatever phone you use, wherever you are in the world, you’re connected to this announcement. It’s an initiative so large that it transcends the entire crypto market cap. This is bigger than Google. Bigger than Microsoft. Bigger than Citibank. Bigger than American Airlines.

Okay, let’s back up. What’s going on?

In June 2017, the China Mobile Internet of Things Alliance was formed, touting members such as China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, ZTE, Huawei, and over 140 more of the world’s leading IoT companies and research institutions (Bolded for later. You’ll see why). Waltonchain is now one of them. The alliance is the world’s first based on NarrowBand-IoT, or NB-IoT, an international technical standard for MIoT led by China (1).

Here’s where Waltonchain comes in. They have developed NB-IoT communication technology that is featured with low power consumption, long transmission distance, and high stability (2).

So let’s connect the dots.

China Mobile is the largest mobile telecommunications service in the world as well as the world’s largest mobile phone operator by total number of subscribers, with over 873 million subscribers as of August 2017 (3). They even recently reached an agreement with AT&T to deploy Internet of Things initiatives to grow the number of connected devices on their network and to develop a platform to simplify the supply chain for their customers looking to expand to China (4)

The NB-IoT tech that Waltonchain is producing is the same tech that could end up in all connected mobile communication devices.

But let’s go further. Get ready for your mind to be blown.

Earlier this week, Waltonchain Project Director, Lin Herui, was invited to attend the Beidou IoT Global Launch Conference & IoT Innovation and Development Conference(5). There, Lin Herui shook hands and discussed IoT with Beidou Navigation leader and Academy of Engineering Academician, Tan Shusen. Tan Shusen stated that the addition of such advanced technologies as blockchain will play a great role in the development of the IoT industry.

At the recent Global IoT Summit 2017, Waltonchain won the Outstanding Product Award for their Smart Waste Management System. Amongst the award winners were international giants such as Huawei, Ericsson, and China Telecom (remember?) (6).

And now for the kicker:

At the 2017 Global IoT Summit, Waltonchain had this to say: “Through the integration of the BeiDou location tracking technology (BDS), GIS [Geographic Information System], mobile communication networks and other information technologies, the traditional waste management system was upgraded to be increasingly automated and efficient” (6).

Waltonchain’s Smart Waste Management system is tailored to be implemented through mobile communication networks, and China Mobile is the largest one. It is no coincidence that two members from the Alliance, Huawei and China Telecom, both won awards alongside Waltonchain for their smart waste management system, which presented Mobile IoT as one of the basic elements for its implementation, and now Waltonchain is invited to join the Mobile IoT Alliance. Waltonchain will use this adaptation through wireless communication services to advance their smart cities projects. Waltonchain could be connecting every mobile phone to create a true internet of things.

This is mass adoption.

Waltonchain is entangled in the middle of a network of world leading IoT corporations and endless opportunities for adoption globally in countless different industries. Waltonchain is positioning themselves to be the single connector of the entire Internet of Things initiative put forward by the China Mobile IoT Alliance.

This could be the largest global-scale operation ever involved with a cryptocurrency to date.
