The U.S. government has issued export licenses allowing Nvidia to sell billions of dollars of worth advanced AI chips to the United Arab Emirates, Reuters reported Thursday.

The approval follows a bilateral artificial intelligence agreement signed earlier this year, under which the UAE agreed to make reciprocal investments in the United States.

The deal is expected to support the construction of large-scale data centers in the UAE, seen as critical to developing and training AI models in the region, and comes amid a broader effort by the Trump administration to strengthen strategic and economic partnerships across the Middle East.
