As a tech writer, I believe that the most exciting technology of the present is Three.js because it can totally change the way we represent things in the browser. Learn more about my thoughts and opinions on Front end development and my journey in the tech industry via the interview below.
1. Tell us about your journey. What do you do and what do you love about it?
I am working for a crypto exchange platform - Rain. I am very excited about the thing we introduced to the market. Besides that, I have experience as well in such fields as e-commerce and cyber security. I’ve started my journey by building simple websites and landing pages, using HTML, CSS, and a little bit of JavaScript.
2. Tell us more about your work. What do you make/write/manage/build?
From my recent experience, we build a crypto exchange platform, which is supposed to make trading crypto much easier. I was part of the team that built the trading functionalities on the front-end side. I am very proud of that.
3. How did you start writing? What made you choose HackerNoon for publishing your work?
I started to write because I wanted to share my experience, especially regarding Data Visualisation in web applications. Because, when I was learning it, I was struggling to find the information I needed. So I decided that it could be useful for others. For a long time, I was just a reader on Hackernoon and one day just decided to contribute as well.
4. What excites you in tech? Tell us about your favorite technology and why you are passionate about it.
The whole field is actually very exciting because it changes our world every day. I am also very excited about the future of tech. One of the things which are very interesting to me is web3. I believe it can totally change the way we interact with the web. I am really looking forward to that new era of the web.
5. What were some of the challenges you faced being a tech writer and how did you overcome them?
The main challenge is to start writing. I was thinking about the idea to become a tech writer, but always hesitated to start writing and I was just postponing it finding different reasons why I can not start. Then I just started my first draft and started to write whenever I had the mood to do it. It was slow, but in one month I ended up with my first story.
6. What are you learning/reading currently? Any recommendations for our readers?
I started to learn React. I’ve got a project to work on, which is written using React. I had before only Angular experience. So, I am very excited to learn about the new JS library, especially since it is the most popular currently in front-end development. My goal is to get as much as I can knowledge about it. I am very curious about it.
7. What is your biggest achievement so far?
It’s difficult to say about the biggest. But I think that one of the achievements I am proud of is that I started to contribute more to the community. By contributing I mean, that I wrote several articles, hosted several webinars, took part in hackathons as a judge, and mentored junior developers. I think this is my biggest achievement, at least for this year.
8. If we gave you 10 million dollars to invest in something today, what would you invest in and why?
I would invest in some Big Data related companies. I believe that field become extremely needed and extremely popular. The amount of data is rapidly growing because someone needs to process it and analyze it and store it for future use. So I believe that it is worth investing in that field because it will only continue to grow.
9. What advice would you give to someone just starting in this field?
Just never give up. Especially at the start of a career people will have to pass through a lot of challenges, so I would suggest being patient and don’t give up. Besides that, be serious, and proactive and try to practice your skills as much as possible.
10. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Be patient and persistent. This is the best one and it’s about everything. This advice can fit a lot of situations and parts of life. It can be related to relationships, work, hobbies, and so on. Definitely can say that this is the best advice I’ve ever received.
