Almost all of the S&P 500 companies are hiring for SQL skills, but demand for them is even higher than more ‘high-tech” languages like R and Python. It is easy to learn and does not require an extensive computer science education to understand. It does teach some of the basics of programming and can be used as a springboard to learn other languages such as JavaScript or C++.
