If you’ve always been enthralled by playing CS: GO, PUBG types, Gosu.ai is going to be a treat for you. For hardcore gamers, Gosu.ai has built an intelligent assistant that analyzes specific actions down to one’s mouse movement and then serves better recommendations for the players. As the founder of Gosu, Alisa Chumachenku believes that their AI assistants can cater strategic gaming suggestions to gamers worldwide. This covers up to 600 million gamers who play hardcore games such as MOBAs, Shooters and MMOs. Gosu.ai also offers B2B services, for instance, predictive analytics for companies who build gaming tools to understand their users’ behaviour and other interaction analytics.

2) MARS — A classic conference for geeks by Jeff Bezos

Here is the Boston Dynamic’s robot dog, showing off after a long walk with Bezos in the MARS meet up. MARS is the short for Machine Learning, Automation, Robotics, Space Exploration and AI, AI is the default geek thing in the room in every technology events. At “Summer camp for geeks” — how Bezos calls it, there were big minds from DARPA (former head), former NASA maestros, Intel’s BK, MythBusters Adam Savage, Segway inventor Dean Kamen and many others. In the midst of 72 hours kibitz, BK tries to imbibe all the unconventional thoughts and information from the chosen big minds, behind the walls of Parker sipping whiskey and smoking cigars. This was an invite-only event precisely to have unstructured conversations. Instead of focusing on improvements to be made in coming weeks or a year, MARS was all about the future.

3) Neuroscience and computing breakthrough — Possibility to simulating human brain up to 100%

Who is going to leverage on what the neuroscientists from Germany, Japan, Norway and Sweden say about simulating human brain up to 100% precision?

These neuroscientists believe that the existing supercomputers lack the memory capacity that is required to hold one bit of information per processor for every neuron in the whole network. The computers we embrace now for functionalities and processes we carry out cannot cope with 1:1 simulation rate of human brain’s activity. As per TNW Conference, for a network of one billion neurons, a large part of memory in each node is consumed by the single bit of information per neuron. To scale and simulate an entire human brain, the memory required per processor will have to be 100 times greater than what current computers possess. The new algorithm explains how the state of 100% human brain simulation can be achieved by employing an extremely scalable ‘exascale hardware’. Designed and built using open source simulation software called NEST — Neural Simulation Tool, commonly used by neuroscientific communities for experimental purposes. Building hardware that can outperform human neural activity by running vast memory processors can shed light on research concerning several brain disorders.

4) AI Assistant for taxi drivers — Advancements in self-driving vehicles

Hyper-intelligent emotion trackers for drivers are expected to come handy in the coming years. The early player of this domain, Affectiva, has just launched its emotion tracker. It’s capable of spotting drivers’ concentration level and mood (anger, joy, depression etc.). Starting today, Affectiva will be able to track drivers’ emotions by examining their facial expressions. To build this, Affectiva has been working tightly with OEMs, such as robotaxi startup called Renovo and vehicle safety system provider Autoliv over the past 18 months. With AI reaching new heights every minute, Affectiva hopes once the majority of the population has shifted to self-autonomous vehicles, its focus will shift from drivers to passengers. By pulling down the passengers’ profile from home assistants, Affectiva’s AI will therefore be able to create favourable ambience for everyone inside the vehicle.

5) Odd yet wise coupling — Apple & IBM join to make AI more accessible for developers

Apple CEO Tim Cook and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty met in the Indian Treaty Room at Eisenhower Executive Office Building for the inaugural meeting of the American Technology Council. Though this seems like a queer combo, Apple and IBM together for the open onlookers such as us, both of these companies have been working closely to create an exemplary solution for AI developers and creators. Precisely, with the power of data provided by IBM Watson, a massive enterprise repository, AI machine model developers can now leverage on the huge set of data, as well the sophistication to move all the machine models from popular model building tools like TensorFlow, Caffe or IBM Watson to multiple apps on iOS devices. This was made even more feasible when IBM announced its cloud console which will help creators connect the Watson model building process with the techniques to insert built models in the app running on the Apple device.

6) Sassy AI assistant for retail shoppers — Soul Machine’s AVA

Soul Machine’s AVA is one of the groundbreaking AI assistant enhancing our existing retail market experience for each and every users. In toto, e-commerce and retail market having reached $1.8 trillion purchase value in the past Q3, 2017, supported by AI and bot assistants, the circulating assumptions signify that the technological explosion happening within several other verticals are supposed to submerge consumers in an extremely sophisticated purchase journey.
