My SIM swap attack: How I almost lost $71K, and how to prevent it

TLDR Stacey Schneider was a victim of SIM swapping, targeted along with dozens of other leaders in the blockchain community. She was stunned by the ease of the attack and how my normal security precautions failed. The thieves attempted to steal $71K by overdrawing funds from my Bank of America to Coinbase.
