Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) is a fast, scalable, and highly available implementation of the MongoDB 3.6 API. It's a fully managed document database that supports MongoDB workloads. Amazon's implementation is a response to a growing set of customers struggling to run MongoDB at scale. There are both gaps in the API support, and critical functional differences to consider.
