I’m Eugene, SDET at RingCentral Inc. Graduated with a Bachelor's in CS from the University of the People in 2022. WWDC Swift Student Challenge Winner. Now, I live in Tallinn, Estonia; I’m trying to be an author and automation mentor and share my knowledge with people on the Internet.
Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?
It was the story about the four bad habits in test automation, so I called it “Four Horsemen of the Flaky Tests.”
Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?
Yes, now I write about similar topics in software automation mostly.
Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)
I use the native notes app on my smartphone to make some drafts during the weekdays, and I usually develop and compose these scratches into stories at the end of the week.
Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?
The most challenging in the modern world is to write compactly. People now are trying to save time and read short and informational articles, so I’m trying to express myself shortly.
Since English is not my native language, it's a double challenge for me to write in English, but I love to write in English.
What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?
I want to increase my online presence and make my name famous in my professional circles.
Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?
I really like video games and pizza parties.
Do you have a non-tech-related hobby? If yes, what is it?
I’m creative, and my favorite hobbies are music creation and photography. I have a specialization in music production. I got on Coursera and some practice courses in sound recording studios. Now, I am studying photography specialization as part of my hobby.
What can the HackerNoon community expect to read from you next?
I will continue my test automation series, and the community can expect more articles about the Playwright framework and different approaches in test automation.
What’s your opinion on HackerNoon as a platform for writers?
I’ve been a HackerNoon reader for a long time and found a lot of interesting and useful information during this time. It’s a really cool platform and the big step for me to transform from reader to writer here at HackerNoon.
