Tell us about you.

Founded in 2020, Hidonix has quickly emerged as a driving force in the tech industry with one core mission: transforming groundbreaking ideas into powerful, industry-specific products. We are a deep tech innovator, relentlessly pursuing advanced technology to create solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible. Our proprietary technologies-rooted in extended reality, spatial intelligence, robotics, artificial intelligence, and computer vision-form the foundation of everything we build.

The tech we build has applications across industries and platforms. We make software and sensing tools that help physical spaces – from museums and campuses to city blocks and trade shows – become more intuitive and secure, while generating valuable data that empowers smarter decisions.

The name Hidonix stems from “Hido” (inspired by Bushido – the way of the warrior, a nod to our ethic of purposeful innovation) and “Nix” (from Phoenix, representing resilience and reinvention). It’s a small nod to our founder’s journey till here! 😁

Tell us how your startup is changing the world.

We’ve always aimed to make a real, measurable impact in the industries we serve. Whether it’s enabling autonomous cataloging in museums or strengthening emergency response in schools, our vision centers on building scalable systems that evolve alongside user needs. It’s always about the user.

You’ll find our tech in museums, schools, expos, public venues – places that serve communities. We meet people where they are and improve how places are experienced, secured, and managed.

What sets you apart from the competition?

What sets us apart is that we build cohesive systems, not just siloed tech. Our flagship technology, ION (Indoor Outdoor Navigation), and other product offerings are industry-agnostic by design, allowing a school to use the same spatial intelligence tools as a gallery or a logistics hub.

We also bring multidisciplinary thinking to every deployment by urban design, behavioral psychology, machine learning, and human-centered UX. Instead of creating a fragmented single-purpose software that is built in a vacuum, we consider the broader user journey by making all-in-one platforms.

To think we know everything is folly. We work with industry experts as active contributors to ensure what we create actually solves a problem.

What does it mean for you to be in the Momentum 10?

Hidonix was founded in Italy, and found a second home in Los Angeles about 5 years ago. We came here with a dream to expand our market and tap into LA’s infectious innovative energy - and this recognition is a reminder that what we’re doing holds value!

Just in the last year, our LA team has more than doubled in size. This is a big validation for everyone on our team, especially the ones who have been with us from day 1 when we were starting out small but mighty.

Being named 3rd in the Los Angeles Momentum 10 is proof of how welcoming the city of angels has been to us!

What do you love about your team, and why are you the ones to set out for this mission?

Our team is made up of visionaries. We push the boundaries of what already exists, giving true meaning to the word “innovation”.

The culture of this team is truly special. There are no wrong questions, and no idea too crazy. Everyone is willing to lend a helping hand to each other. The biggest reason this team is truly set out for this mission is their empathy. With each step, each tool, each feature, every single member is constantly thinking about the end user. That level of empathy is rare to find.

We also like to have fun. You will often find us at a brewery next to our Santa Monica office!

Looking back, what milestone was the biggest turning point for your startup?

Hidonix started with just one core technology, not knowing how far and wide we could cast its net. Our first large-scale museum deployment encouraged us to build one system where we could integrate robotics, content management, operations, and more. Once we did that, we realized that this was a common missing piece across most verticals.

We’ve since supported everything from remote tunnels beneath Mount Etna to interactive holographic exhibits in New York. That early experience helped us see the wider applications and gave us confidence to expand.

What’s one valuable lesson you learned this year that you’d pass on to other startups?

Keep making room for signals. At a time when something new is trending every other day, our most valuable progress comes from moments of clarity. Listening deeply to our clients. Holding off on a flashy release to make it more intuitive. Letting real-world problems drive our roadmap.

Last year we had the incredible opportunity to attend expos and connect with other startups to build our community. We all share one common insight from our early days - scaling means slowing down to build the right thing, not just the next thing.

How do you envision your industry evolving in the coming years, and how will your startup stay ahead?

That’s a tough question to answer, since we do fit in many industries on a granular level. That being said, a trend we’re noticing is that more and more investors and VCs want to invest in deep tech companies, since the markets for single-purpose software get saturated very quickly.

Deep tech companies will grow, and the idea of putting R&D first will become a common industry-practice. To stay ahead, we plan to expand our research and development team and expand to even more verticals.

Luckily for us, we have a good head start, and we will keep building on that momentum!

How do you or your company intend to bring forward the Momentum 10 inspirations in 2025?

The more we learn together, the faster we grow together. We’ll be sharing more of our expertise through our new podcast and thought leadership articles.

This year, we’re making a conscious effort to be out there. At events, with our clients, our partners - we want to be bold and audacious in our mission to create impact. We regularly host networking events and luncheons for companies in the Los Angeles area - you can sign up here to be notified of the next one.

Hidonix is also most excited to showcase our work at CES 2026 - the biggest tech conference in the world! If you’re visiting, please stop by and say hi! 👋

What goals are you looking forward to accomplishing in 2025?

We are so excited for what the future holds! Here’s a couple of goals we want to accomplish in 2025:

  • Bring our museum CRM/CMS platform, MIT, to new cultural institutions in Europe, North America, and the UAE.
  • Showcase our new offerings, ExpoX and SafeSchool (both now in the market), for public spaces and campuses.
  • Complete a secret robotics project that we have been working on non-stop!

2024 has been crazy, with all the new techs, and all the geopolitics fluctuations. What are the impacts of these to your startup, and to your industry as a whole? Be as brief or as detailed as you like.

2024 was… a lot. While we grew as a company, constant changing regulations and supply chain hurdles pushed us to ask: what truly matters, and what can no longer wait?

We knew volatile markets demanded more. For us, this meant leaning harder into modular design that is easier to deploy locally and less reliant on third-party infrastructure. Building key tech in-house without having to worry about supply chain issues. The way to make that happen? Investing in good talent. It’s a differentiator that makes a startup stand out amongst its competitors in times like these - and one that we used to our advantage.

In many ways, 2024 validated our thesis: tech should serve communities, not trends.

We would love your feedback on HackerNoon as a tech publication! How has your experience been with us?

HackerNoon is an incredible partner to us! We’re grateful for a space to tell our story in our own words. Thank you for putting the spotlight on early-stage startups and being a flag-bearer for the recognition we need!

Any words of wisdom you’d like to share with us?

Be obsessed with innovation. Innovation is a mere buzzword unless you unpack its layers. Define what innovation means to you. To us, innovation is:

  • A friend that makes someone’s job easier.
  • A partner that makes spaces feel alive and safe.
  • A helper that is accessible and serves the community.
