Google Maps has always been the de-facto locational map API that developers turn to. Foursquare has since migrated to Mapbox, as it seeks a cheaper alternative. Mapbox is an advanced and flexible map service that can be integrated into mobile apps. OpenStreetMap is a free, open-source project where volunteers contribute to creating routes, imagery, and other data for the map.
