TLDRvia the TL;DR App

Y-Productive by Kyrylo (@kytaran) from Ukraine

What’s your motivation for creating your product?

Nowadays both work and rest can be done at the computer. It is easy to be sidetracked, and it quickly becomes a habit. We don’t even notice that we waste hours of work-intended time on nothing: from watching videos to constantly checking the news.

Let’s do a quick math: on average people get sidetracked 40 times per day. Even if it is just 2 minutes — which is never true because we need more time to reclaim our focus — it converts in 80 minutes wasted every day. It’s 7 hours of your productive time in trash every week minimum!

Everyone in our team is a digital worker, so we know that problem firsthand. We developed Y-Productive to help people track the true picture of their efficiency in work at the computer and to help them focus on getting things done every day. Why? Because a healthy work ensures a quality life and rest.

What are your product features?

It’s a desktop app that tracks time and efficiency of your work and helps to prevent sidetracking.

Real-time productivity feedback, website blocking, distractions counter, task/project management, time tracking.

Any specific launch tips? Or things you would do differently?

Launch tip: if you got to the main page, aim for the feedback, not the up-votes. It’s what Product Hunt is built for, and the feedback is the only thing that will help you in a long run.

The traffic will cease eventually, and press or media don’t care if you’ve taken the first place or not.
