TLDRI just messaged a friend on <a href="http://app.net" target="_blank">App.net</a> (yes that is still a thing for some people) who is struggling with feeling that it’s okay to take a break from work. This particular person is a developer, and comparing themselves to another coworker who seems to be able to work insane hours without rest. “It’s okay” is the gist of my message to them. It’s okay to stop, take a break, rest, restore yourself, reconnect with loved ones, and just not think about work or “the next big thing” for awhile.via the TL;DR App

I just messaged a friend on App.net (yes that is still a thing for some people) who is struggling with feeling that it’s okay to take a break from work. This particular person is a developer, and comparing themselves to another coworker who seems to be able to work insane hours without rest. “It’s okay” is the gist of my message to them. It’s okay to stop, take a break, rest, restore yourself, reconnect with loved ones, and just not think about work or “the next big thing” for awhile.

I think it’s amazing what our minds come up with when we are at peace doing something we love. Frankly, I need to spend more time doing that myself.
