TLDRvia the TL;DR App

Don’t you have solutions in your back office application for repetitive tasks such as changing a user input or querying a MongoDB collection? Even if your developers are comfortable with writing MongoDB queries, all team members might not feel the same. This may make your team more dependent on your developers.

We are aiming to simplify your workflow and happy to announce Mongobot as the only way of querying MongoDB from Slack.

We had two main goals when launching Mongobot:

  • Offer developers more freedom by giving them ability to query MongoDB over Slack. 🤖
  • Make it easy for non-developers to query MongoDB.

Mongobot Functions

Mongobot Functions are reusable MongoDB queries that you can call from Slack.

Like all functions, they can take parameters as well and these parameters can be used in your shell script. In this way, every time you call a function, you customize the query according to the given parameters.

Slack Queries

To call a function from Slack, the only thing you need is a function name and it’s parameters. Let’s see the example below. Easy right?
