Excelling in Academic Settings
Bhalkikar began his journey in academics, where he excelled in science, chess, and table tennis. During the Maharashtra Talent Search Examination, he was placed on the state-level merit list, highlighting his capacity for analytical thinking. Bhalkikar leveraged this skill to enter a Bachelor of Science program at Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, where he graduated with distinction.

Building on academic success, Bhalkikar began his professional career at Accenture. Here, he quickly earned top awards for an automation initiative. He then joined Wipro, where he helped to lead the development of Aviva’s first digital self-service portal for insurance customers in the United Kingdom. Here, he discovered the potential of digital platforms to redefine business models.
“I advanced through roles at Sears, Tavisca, Amdocs, and a major global insurer with a strong North American footprint, increasingly motivated by the challenge of modernizing legacy systems, driving cloud adoption, and architecting scalable solutions for Fortune 500 companies. The opportunity to mentor others, foster innovation, and build high-performing teams further fueled my commitment,” Bhalkikar shared.
Achievements in Architecture Solutions
At Sears, Bhalkikar architected the company’s Credit Services platform to achieve 99.95% availability and multi-million dollar savings. Furthermore, he led the early adoption of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud solutions at the company. This Cloud Migration initiative led him to mentor several colleagues, including one who had completed a PhD. So, Bhalkikar advanced his Thought Leadership in IT.
Transitioning to Tavisca, Bhalkikar transformed the company’s monolithic loyalty-travel program into more than 50 microservices on AWS. This move would play a significant role in the company’s eventual acquisition by cxLoyalty and later JPMorgan Chase. At Amdocs, Bhalkikar led a multi-year digital transformation project for a Fortune 100 client, achieving significant improvements.

Currently, Bhalkikar serves as assistant vice president at a major global insurer. In this role, he architects enterprise-wide strategies for one of the world’s leading insurers.
