Every hackernews app on the play store that has been built is exactly like hackernews with few color changes and there are so many of them. I always wanted a good mobile-optimized app for hackernews as I am a big fan of the content of hackernews. Here are the few things I like about hackernews:
No crap and attention-grabbing titles
I have used so many news apps and they all try to glamorize the title to get the most number of clicks. This is not the case with hackernews.
Amazing discussions
- The comments sections always give you a new perspective on the news
- You sometimes get related knowledge and recommendation about the similar content from the best people.
No recommendation and data collection shit
Any other news app is trying to make maximum money out of you. So they always try to collect data about your reading habits and make a bubble/echo chamber for you so you will miss out on new content.
Probably this is the best thing about hacker news that it does not collect and recommend news/article.
There are many more things I like about hackernews but one thing I always wanted was a good hackernews app and most of the apps on the play store are similar to hackernews site and provide little additional value. So decided to build my own app with the help of hacker news api and newspaper summarization library.
It is still in the initial phase with few features. Here are some of the features:

- Swipe up for next news.
- Swipe left to view hackernews post.
- Swipe right to view the news page.
- Get notifications about top news daily
I personally like the ability to read one news at time and image, the summary preview from the article is really helpful.
