Google said Wednesday it will invest €5 billion over the next two years to expand its cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Belgium, marking one of its largest European commitments to date.

The investment will fund the expansion of its data center campuses in Saint-Ghislain and create about 300 new full-time jobs. The company also announced new agreements with Eneco, Luminus and Renner to develop additional onshore wind farms, supporting Belgium’s clean energy transition.

Beyond infrastructure, Google said it will provide free AI training programs for Belgian workers, including low-skilled employees, through partnerships with local non-profits.

The company described the initiative as part of its broader effort to strengthen Europe’s digital economy and position Belgium as a hub for AI innovation and sustainable technology.
