TLDRvia the TL;DR App

ETH.TOWN team here, and we wanted to share the latest news and thoughts on the project!

First of all, please let us thank our great community! We didn’t expect to receive this much support, and this support is great. We are getting tons of feedback, and it allows us to adjust the project all the time.

ETH.TOWN we are preparing for early launch right now is a pretty different game from what we envisioned back in November. Sure, the core concept stays the same, but communication with our new fan base made us shape everything else very differently already.

Schedule.

The original plan was to release a closed alpha in the end of March, but then we’ve changed it to the early April due to various circumstances. Now, after seeing how high are the expectations, we can’t afford to release anything sub-par even for the alpha.

The original plan was to go ahead and launch the alpha even without the heroes’ main logic, then we decided to include at least the basic parts. And now, after seeing feedback from the Cauldrons mini-game, we’ve made a decision to include the core Hero logic into the release. That is the full non-fungible token implementation, ability to transfer and manage the heroes, and son on.

All in all it means that we again need to delay the rollout even to the closed audience. We understand that not meeting the deadlines may harm your trust in us, but showing not exactly what we want to show, even to limited audience, is not an option either. The first impression is important for us and we are sure that it’ll all be worth the wait. Some more info here.

We’ll keep posting updates on expected dates, but we are doing everything to make it happen as early as possible.

On the bright side, stuffing more items into the beta makes the gap between the beta and global release smaller.

Super Heroes recap.

Today Hotzilla was sold for incredible 23.4 ETH, and Prince Kong went to it’s owner for 22.5 ETH! The same person who owns Pac-Man and Hot Potato heroes has sniped both HotZilla and Prince Kong right before the auctions concluded!

Just to remind you, these 2 were “hot potato” style auctions, and the ones to participate in them got some profit. These two “hot potatoes” included an additional twist: the highest bidder of each of them also got 0.5% of the bids placed for the other one.

Also, today we’ve put on sale the last Super Hero for the presale: it’s the well know (and not known at all) Satoshi. Check it out on the website: LINK.

Cauldrons mini-game.

We’ve got lots of feedback here. Some people loved the idea of a shared pot split proportionally (probability-wise) to what you put in. Some others (those who dislike lotteries and everything like that, apparently) found it not cool at all.

We want to assure you that not all the mini-games in ETH.TOWN will involve risk. But this feedback actually pushed us into rethinking and reshaping what exactly is supposed to go into the beta, and shifting priorities. We learn a lot about our audience every day, and we want to make sure that most people enjoy the game when we launch it.

By the way, the Cauldrons have already generated 2.5 ETH in the ETIT holders pool. Just one mini-game, just a few days, but already some real ETH to split. Some more info on the mini-game will be published shortly.

Custom Heroes.

As you probably know, we’ve got a huge amount of hero customization requests. The waiting line became so big that first we decided to make it required to buy 10 Level 9 heroes to be eligible for character customization, but then had to remove that option altogether and make it available only for a flat fee of 10 ETH. After we create all the pending characters, we will either lower the price, or stop accepting further requests at all, haven’t decided yet.

At the moment we are about 50% done with the pending portraits and probably it’s a good time to share some of them with you!
