In this interview, we speak with Randy Horton, the creator of Emisary, a personal diary equipped with actionable AI feedback. By analyzing daily journal entries across a ten-dimensional framework, Emisary helps users understand how they are perceived by others so they can intentionally evolve.

What does Emisary do? And why is now the time for it to exist?

Emisary is a diary with actionable AI feedback, so you can learn how you are perceived and evolve intentionally.

Users are prompted to write about specific moments from their lives on a daily basis. AI analyzes behavioral and emotional cues across a proprietary ten-dimensional framework, so you can track your perceived demeanor over time and intentionally make changes. Now’s a good time for Emisary to exist because AI's ability to provide immediate, unbiased emotional and behavioral analysis has finally reached a point where it can serve as a practical, everyday tool for deep personal growth and self-awareness.

How many people does Emisary reach?

I have just completed my alpha release, so the reach is extremely limited at the moment. I am receiving feedback from friends and family.

Who does your Emisary serve? What’s exciting about your users and customers?

Emisary is for everyone who wonders how they are perceived by others, and who would like to write about their own life and get a better understanding of how they are coming across.

What technologies were used in the making of Emisary? And why did you choose ones most essential to your tech stack?

Emisary is built using Laravel for its robust and scalable backend architecture. At the core of our behavioral analysis, we integrated the ChatGPT API to power our proprietary ten-dimensional framework, allowing for incredibly rapid and effective evaluations of user journal entries.

What is the traction to date for Emisary?

Emisary is currently in its very early alpha release stage, focusing heavily on foundational product development and gathering initial feedback. As a newly launched project, we have not yet achieved broad traction or public notice, relying primarily on a close circle of friends and family to test the core concept.

Emisary scored a 32 proof of usefulness score (https://proofofusefulness.com/report/emisary)

What excites you about Emisary's potential usefulness?

What excites me about the concept is the simplicity of the analysis that AI can provide. Given the structure we have created there is a very quick, effective, and understandable analysis of input behavior within less than 60 seconds, giving user a window into their own motivations and how their behavior is perceived.
