TLDRvia the TL;DR App

When it comes to tech events in the CEE region, it’s hard to beat DigitalK. A smorgasbord of the tech industry’s who’s who, DigitalK takes place at the Sofia Event Center, in … you guessed it, Sofia, Bulgaria.

From top-notch speakers to a killer startup competition, if you want to know more about what’s happening in eastern European tech, DigitalK is your one stop shop. Primarily put on by the crew from Launchub, it’s always great to cover an event produced by genuinely good people. And Stefan is one of the best. Not only does this man know his stuff, but he also knows the value of hosting an event in a region of the world that usually doesn’t get that much attention. E.g., it’s not Silicon Valley. It’s not London, or Berlin.

270°

DigitalK features one of the most unique venues I’ve ever worked in, in so much as three sides of the auditorium feature projected visuals.

270° of projections zOMG!!!

As you can imagine, for a photographer this is both a challenge and an eyegasm come true. A challenge in, how the f*ck am I going to capture all of this? An eyegasm in, gsus, everywhere I look there’s something interesting going on.

And the action isn’t all just happening inside. There’s a massive outdoor terrace where I noticed quite a lot of coffee being consumed as well as many an intro, and most probably the beginnings of some great partnerships.

Coffee and Networking abound

And if you think the fun stops at the end of the day … you’d be sadly mistaken. I believe there are many things the Bulgarians get right, and at the very top of that list is the nightlife. From dinner after dinner to the reception by the French Ambassador to Bulgaria, DigitalK opens some serious doors for some serious folks.

But don’t have your fill at dinner, because there’s still the clubs and parties that take place until the wee hours of the morning. … and then get up and do it all over again.

Enjoy, and if you’d like to work with me … get in touch!
